Responsibilities
  • Manage, direct, and accept overall accountability for travel team performance in support of the region.
  • Execute sales and service cultures across supported markets.
  • Support operational compliance and internal controls, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and regulatory issues, including the Bank Secrecy Act, privacy, fair lending, Regulation E, and deposit, transaction, and loan accounts.
  • Travel daily within the region and occasionally outside the region.
  • Build internal and external relationships through problem resolution, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Collaborate with other managers to protect and deliver bank sales, service, and operational standards and policies.
  • Serve as interim Financial Center Manager and/or Senior Relationship Banker when required, in collaboration with the Community Bank President and Regional Retail Manager.
  • Lead by example and serve as a role model for retail teammates across the region.
  • Demonstrate advanced product and sales knowledge of retail and small business products, including cash management and electronic services.
  • Observe and participate in sales processes, including cross-selling during new account openings, lobby observations, customer profiling, target setting, and call preparation.
  • Support regional staffing needs in collaboration with regional retail leadership and partner roles.
  • Participate in Regional Retail Leadership Meetings and Calls.
  • Scale retail initiatives and provide guidance for the regional travel team using measurable key performance indicators.
  • Manage hiring of non-officers onto the travel team, including assisting with applications, testing, and internal job postings.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new travel teammates, including new-hire electronic paperwork, payroll deposit account opening, technology and login setup, and training opportunities.
  • Manage travel team employees by training, coaching, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Conduct one to two mock audits per month and provide written feedback to local retail leadership, the Community Bank President, the Regional Operations Manager, and the Regional Retail Manager.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
  • Attend periodic human resources training and counsel employees regarding human resources policies and procedures, including timekeeping, vacation time, and dress code.
  • Report major employee issues to the Human Resources department.
  • Represent the bank in the community by participating in one to two community bank-sponsored functions per quarter.
  • Observe day-to-day operations and provide timely feedback when on site.
  • Maintain fewer than five total outstanding exceptions personally at all times.
  • Conduct quarterly monitoring check-ins and spot checks for all community banks.
  • Complete all required compliance exams annually.
  • Adhere to all First United policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field is preferred.
  • One year of relevant industry and management experience in banking or retail is preferred.
