Requirements
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license and eligibility to be insured on the company's insurance policy.
  • Legal documentation verifying employment eligibility.
  • Physical ability to perform the workload of a lawn care technician, including full mobility in the upper and lower body and the ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Possession of required applicator licenses and certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner daily.
  • Ability to work 40–50 hours per week during peak season, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work in person during the day shift.
Responsibilities
  • Learn and thoroughly understand all aspects of lawn care, including safe material handling, mixing and transporting materials, first aid procedures for accidents or spills, material application, diagnosing insect and disease issues, equipment operation, material ordering, and customer interaction.
  • Complete all paperwork and administrative requirements related to the job while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Operate company equipment, including trucks, backpack sprayers, hose reels, and motorized spreaders.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on company equipment.
  • Use or learn the company's software.
  • Meet or exceed company production standards for lawn care work.
  • Keep jobs on schedule and on budget.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Identify appropriate extras and upsells and convert them into work orders when appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean crew truck at all times.
  • Complete and process necessary job paperwork, purchase orders, and timesheets.
  • Interact with clients and potential clients in a professional, courteous, and competent manner.
  • Train a novice lawn care assistant and maintain team morale.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work with minimal supervision from the Lawn & Plant Healthcare Coordinator and request assistance when appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in lawn care or landscaping is preferred but not required.
  • One year of horticulture experience is preferred.
  • A driver's license is preferred.
