Requirements
  • A Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, or an equivalent field is required.
  • A current State of Idaho Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Counselor license in good standing is required, or the candidate must be license eligible.
  • IBADCC Clinical Supervisor certification, or eligibility under IDAPA 16.07.20.216.02, is required.
  • The role requires independent decision-making and administrative or procedural judgment.
  • The candidate must have training and knowledge of supervisory styles and techniques.
  • The candidate must understand mental health and substance use disorder counseling principles, methods, procedures, and adult treatment standards.
  • The candidate must understand community-based services including recovery coaching, skills building, and case management.

Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive, integrated professional substance use disorder services and treatment planning in a clinical or outpatient environment.
  • Provide professional leadership in determining appropriate therapeutic approaches and methods.
  • Plan and implement outreach and education programs, workshops, and activities.
  • Supervise clinical activities of therapists, community-based staff, and interns for the identified program.
  • Establish and maintain case files and related clinical and legal documents.
  • Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Director and therapists to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
  • Direct program staff in the day-to-day provision of family-focused, trauma-informed services.
  • Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Director to complete annual employee reviews for program staff.
  • Participate in the peer review committee and report summaries and concerns to the Behavioral Health Director.
  • Provide mental health and substance use disorder counseling, therapy, and psychotherapy to patients and families as appropriate.
  • Prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs, and provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
  • Collect patient data through interviews, case histories, screenings, and observational techniques; evaluate the data to identify causes of problems and determine the proper level of care or referrals.
  • Consult with therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff in therapeutic and casework activities, and refer patients to appropriate service agencies.
  • Provide and arrange mental health and substance use disorder interventions for patients in crisis or with serious disturbance problems.
  • Review and sign support-services documentation as required by Medicaid protocols.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings with program staff.
  • Refer patients to social service agencies for financial assistance and other required services.
  • Follow up to evaluate treatment reliability and change the method or degree of therapy when indicated.
  • Establish and maintain patient case files, referrals, and related treatment documents; prepare documentation for civil commitment hearings or other legal proceedings.
  • Consult with legal and treatment agencies and individuals regarding patient records, rights, and responsibilities.
  • Plan and facilitate community outreach and education activities and serve as a liaison and representative to community organizations and schools as appropriate.
  • Perform administrative functions such as monitoring budgets and preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Participate in research projects to develop service plans and propose changes to program policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Provide formal teaching, consultation, and in-service training to relevant professionals on handling and referral of clinical matters.
  • Complete required safety training, participate in emergency response tasks and safety committees as requested, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Follow Medicare compliance requirements, complete compliance training, and support accurate documentation and billing practices.
  • Participate as an active Patient-Centered Medical Home team member.
  • Read and follow operational, safety, environmental, and job-specific procedures and policies.
