A master's degree in counseling, social work, or an equivalent field.
A current Idaho Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Counselor license in good standing, or eligibility for licensure.
IBADCC Clinical Supervisor certification, or eligibility under IDAPA 16.07.20.216.02.
High degree of independent decision-making ability and knowledge of supervisory styles and techniques.
Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder counseling principles, methods, procedures, and adult-care standards.
Knowledge of community-based services, including recovery coaching, skills building, and case management.
Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
Knowledge of community mental health and substance use disorder resources, clinical operations and procedures for treated age groups, and crisis intervention techniques.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials; make administrative and procedural decisions; and evaluate therapeutic program progress and modify individual treatment as needed.
Ability to maintain emotional stability when coping with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Knowledge of social and vocational rehabilitation principles and methods as they relate to substance use disorder clinical practices.

Responsibilities
Provide intensive, integrated professional substance use disorder services and treatment planning in clinical or outpatient settings.
Provide professional leadership in determining appropriate therapeutic approaches and methods.
Plan and implement outreach and education programs, workshops, and activities.
Supervise clinical activities of therapists, community-based staff, and/or interns in the identified program.
Establish and maintain case files and related documents for clinical and legal purposes.
Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Director and therapists to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
Direct program staff in the day-to-day provision of family-focused, trauma-informed services.
Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Director to complete annual employee reviews for program staff.
Participate in the peer review committee and report summaries and concerns to the Behavioral Health Director.
Provide mental health and substance use disorder counseling, therapy, and psychotherapy to patients and families as appropriate; prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs; and provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
Collect patient data through interviews, case histories, screenings, and observation; evaluate the data to identify causes of problems and determine the proper level of care or referral to specialists.
Consult with therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff in therapeutic and casework performance, and refer patients to appropriate service agencies as required.
Provide and arrange mental health and substance use disorder interventions for patients in crisis and those with serious disturbance problems.
Review and sign support services documentation as required by Medicaid protocols.
Hold regular supervision meetings with program staff.
Refer patients to social service agencies for financial assistance and other required services.
Follow up to assess treatment reliability and change the method and degree of therapy when indicated.
Maintain case files, referrals, and other patient-treatment documents; prepare documentation for civil commitment hearings or other legal proceedings; and monitor patient data to ensure appropriate treatment and care.
Consult with legal and treatment agencies and individuals regarding patient records, rights, and responsibilities.
Plan and facilitate community outreach and education activities, and serve as a liaison and representative to community organizations and schools as appropriate.
Perform administrative functions such as monitoring budgets and preparing reports and correspondence; participate in research projects to develop service plans; and propose changes to program policies and procedures as appropriate.
Provide formal teaching, consultation, and in-service training to relevant professionals on the immediate and proper handling of and referral for various matters as appropriate.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Complete required safety training, participate in emergency-response tasks and safety committees as requested, maintain a safe working environment, follow safety instructions, report or correct hazards, and provide feedback on safety issues.
Follow Medicare compliance requirements by documenting and billing accurately, participating in compliance training, identifying and reporting potential violations, and signing the Conflict of Interest Statement at hire and annually.
Participate as an active and willing member of the Patient Centered Medical Home team.
Read and understand operational, safety, and environmental requirements, plans, procedures, and policies relevant to the job.
Description
SUMMARY:
Full-time position with a dual supervisory and clinical role. Serves as the supervisor of a small team that provides screening, assessment, level one SUD treatment and community-based services (skills building, recovery coaching, and case management). Supervises all clinical aspects of these programs by directing, consulting, and monitoring the work of staff. Leads and trains behavioral health staff engaged in related program patient care activities. Has clinical case load which will include psychosocial evaluation/assessment and diagnosing, mental health therapy, SUD counseling therapy, group therapy, family therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services in an outpatient setting.
$57,000 - $85,250 annually DOE.
$20,000 longevity bonus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, or an equivalent field. Current State of Idaho Clinical Social Worker/Clinical Counselor license in good standing required or license eligible. IBADCC Clinical Supervisor certification, or eligibility (IDAPA 16.07.20.216.02) is required.
