We are seeking a Data Engineering intern who is interested in developing real world experience with organizing, storing and querying massive amounts of data from smart devices being managed by us and our clients with the goal of grid decarbonization. Your work will enable both internal and external users to develop a deep understanding of how EnergyHub’s software platform solves real-world energy challenges by building and managing virtual power plants (VPPs). The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about Data Engineering and seeks to apply their skills towards solving the climate crisis.

About the job:

The Data Engineering  team is looking for a full-time summer 2024 intern! This paid internship is planned to last for 12 weeks, from June 3rd to September2024, with a commitment of up to 40 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to gain real world experience working while also making a positive climate impact.

Primary project:

With support from the team, you will replicate our production EVSE data pipeline in test. This project will improve your understanding of production workflows in an enterprise environment while you benefit from the wisdom and experience of your team. You will also broaden your experience in DBT and related technologies. Dependent teams will benefit from your contribution with better data and more observable processes. You will also have the opportunity to assist with a broad variety of other stories involving SQL views/procedures, security, APIs, and more.

During your internship, you will:

• Gain experience in managing complex datasets
• Gain or deepen experience with Snowflake
• Contribute to our team culture and inclusive workplace environment
• Other duties as assigned 

What we need:

• You have a solid grasp of SQL (Snowflake preferred) and experience with DBT. 
• You have excellent organizational, communication skills, and a demonstrated attention to detail
• You have a desire to use your analytical skills to help support green technology and advance a clean energy future 

The hourly pay for this position is up to $25.00. Compensation may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
