Requirements
  • A degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school is required.
  • South Carolina Board certification or eligibility is required.
  • A current driver's license is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • The position must care for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, administer, and direct therapeutic procedures in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
  • Establish physical therapy goals and reassess patient progress at regular, timely intervals with appropriate documentation.
  • Evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments.
  • Establish treatment plans and treat patients using exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to reduce pain and support recovery.
  • Communicate with patients, families, peers, and other professionals to provide continuity of care.
  • Work cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and insurance adjusters.
  • Document and report on patient progress.
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers as needed.
