Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer through ASQ, certification as a Quality Auditor through ASQ, and/or certification in ISO 9001, such as Lead Auditor, is highly desirable.
  • Additional certifications in Non-Destructive Testing methods are required, and welding inspection certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector are a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance and quality control mechanical and piping engineering within power combined-cycle gas turbine or engineering, procurement, and construction projects is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and experience participating in audits are required.
  • Proficiency in industry standards and codes including ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, and ISO is required, particularly for pressure piping, welding, and material specifications.
  • Experience with quality management software and tools such as Aconex, Procore, Primavera, or similar quality assurance and quality control tracking and documentation platforms is advantageous.
  • Skill in Non-Destructive Testing techniques, including radiography, ultrasonic testing, and magnetic particle testing, and interpretation of results is required.
  • A strong understanding of safety standards, risk assessment, and quality compliance in mechanical and piping engineering is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, the international standard for occupational health and safety, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Evaluate and manage the quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors, establish selection criteria, and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to uphold quality standards.
  • Create and execute quality assurance and quality control plans and inspection test plans, conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform quality control tests to verify adherence to project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive document control system for inspection reports, quality documentation, and compliance assessments.
  • Prepare regular quality control reports for project management and stakeholders, communicating findings, trends, and recommendations to drive quality improvements.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues while collaborating across teams and engaging stakeholders to achieve quality objectives.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and document non-conformities and deviations from quality standards.
  • Work with project teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze quality control processes to identify improvements and implement best practices for enhanced quality assurance and quality control outcomes.
  • Apply Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to support continuous improvement and adapt to evolving technologies and quality assurance standards.
  • Carry out tasks required by the quality assurance and quality control manager.
