About the job
- Strong ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical complaints and skills to repair all makes and models of vehicles.
- At least 8 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Meet or exceed hourly goals.
- Have aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
- Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head.
- Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's repair needs.
- Have the dexterity needed to efficiently use hand tools.
- Walk or stand for the majority of the workday.
- Drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Efficiently navigate a computer.
- Diagnose and repair customers' vehicles using technical knowledge and skills.
- Continuously build automotive mechanic experience across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Work as part of a team to troubleshoot customer concerns quickly and effectively.
- Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Work closely with the service department and effectively communicate customer concerns.
- Work with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- ASE certifications, or a plan to achieve them.
