Physical Infrastructure Specialist
About the job
- At least two years of professional experience supporting electrical wiring, generator power systems, fiber-optic installation, LAN testing equipment including optical time-domain reflectometers (OTDRs), and network and electrical system testing.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling and physical network infrastructure.
- Ability to use cable certification and fiber-optic testing equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
- Individuals without BICSI ITS Installer Level 1 certification must obtain it within 90 days.
- Install and terminate copper and fiber-optic cabling.
- Test, certify, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunications cabling and electrical infrastructure.
- Maintain electrical wiring and generator power systems supporting IT operations.
- Support network expansions, infrastructure modernization, equipment relocations, and facility upgrades.
- Troubleshoot communications rooms, equipment racks, cable pathways, and physical connectivity.
- Maintain installation drawings, labeling, test results, and asset documentation.
- Coordinate with network engineers, system administrators, and facilities personnel.
- BICSI ITS Installer Level 1 certification.
