Requirements
  • At least 6 years of SAP functional consulting experience, including hands-on delivery across at least one full S/4HANA lifecycle.
  • Deep expertise in at least one finance domain: Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, or Order-to-Cash, with working fluency in adjacent areas and master-data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process discovery, process mapping, and process mining using SAP Process Intelligence or equivalent business process intelligence tools, and translating mining outputs into solution requirements.
  • Strong preference for standard, clean-core S/4HANA design, with sound judgment about when a requirement warrants an extension rather than a process change.
  • Practical experience applying Databricks AI and agentic capabilities to enterprise processes, with judgment on automation and decision support while maintaining governance, controls, auditability, and human oversight.
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns including APIs, OData, IDoc, SAP Integration Suite, and SAP BTP, together with the data requirements that feed process mining and AI models.
  • Working knowledge of SAP authorizations, segregation of duties, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and audit requirements.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, manage stakeholders, lead change management, present executive-level return on investment, and translate technical capabilities into measurable business value.
  • A pragmatic, outcome-driven approach to reducing process waste and risk, with comfort leading through ambiguity across complex business and IT landscapes.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end process discovery and AS-IS/TO-BE design for Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash processes.
  • Define S/4HANA solution scope and design toward standard, clean-core capabilities wherever possible.
  • Own functional configuration, business rules, and master-data strategy for the assigned domain.
  • Partner with developers on extensions, APIs, and orchestration when standard functionality is insufficient.
  • Use process mining and business process intelligence to identify root causes, quantify opportunities, prioritize improvements, and translate findings into S/4HANA requirements.
  • Define requirements for AI-assisted and agentic process improvements, including task automation, intelligent recommendations, anomaly detection, and generative assistants.
  • Determine where AI-driven recommendations, human-in-the-loop controls, or deterministic rules are appropriate in controlled and auditable processes.
  • Partner with Finance process owners, architects, developers, and engineering pods to embed AI safely and define data flows among S/4HANA, process intelligence tools, SAP BTP, and Databricks AI.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, validate business value, define acceptance criteria, and lead user acceptance testing for functional and AI features.
  • Define KPIs and track return on investment for process improvements, including cycle time, touchless transaction rate, exception reduction, manual-touch reduction, and adoption.
  • Build business cases for prioritized automation and AI initiatives.
  • Coach and upskill process owners and functional teams on process intelligence, best practices, and AI adoption.
  • Drive readiness and change management for delivered solutions.
Desired Qualifications
  • SAP S/4HANA Associate or Professional certification for a relevant module and experience with the SAP Activate methodology.
  • Certification or training in SAP Process Intelligence, or experience with Celonis or other process mining vendors.
  • Hands-on experience delivering at least one AI-assisted process improvement in production.
  • Familiarity with the SAP AI and extension stack, including SAP BTP, AI Core, and Joule, and a perspective on build-versus-adopt tradeoffs against a Databricks-native approach.
  • Experience working with data teams to make ERP data usable for analytics and AI on modern data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth technology company where ERP had to scale quickly.

Databricks provides a unified data and AI platform built around a lakehouse architecture that blends data lakes and data warehouses. It helps organizations ingest, store, manage, and analyze data from various sources, then apply analytics and machine learning at scale. The platform offers automated ETL, secure data sharing, and high-performance analytics, with built-in support for AI workloads and model deployment. Unlike traditional single-purpose data stores, Databricks combines data engineering, data science, and business analytics in one system, aiming to streamline data workflows and make insights readily actionable. Its goal is to enable businesses to manage data more efficiently, accelerate insight generation, and deploy AI and analytics across diverse teams through a subscription-based platform and professional services.

Pengana's AIX acquires 8% stake in $190B AI platform Databricks

ASX-listed AI Private Opportunities Trust has acquired a position in Databricks, allocating approximately 8% of its portfolio to the US data and AI company. San Francisco-based Databricks raised $5 billion in August 2024 at a $190 billion valuation. The platform serves over 70% of Fortune 500 companies and more than 20,000 organisations worldwide. Databricks crossed a $7 billion revenue run rate in its most recent quarter, growing over 80% year-on-year whilst maintaining positive free cash flow. This investment follows AIX's deployment of over one-third of its portfolio across positions including ByteDance, Helsing, and Handshake. The trust aims to provide Australian investors access to private AI market leaders typically limited to institutional investors. GCM Grosvenor manages the trust's investments and is in advanced discussions to close several additional positions.

Databricks hires ex-AWS executive to lead Asia partners amid 85% growth

Databricks has appointed former Amazon Web Services executive Briscoe to lead its Asia Pacific & Japan partner organisation. She previously headed AWS's partner operations in the region and held similar roles at Microsoft and Cisco. The move supports Databricks' regional expansion. In April, the company named Simon Davies as regional leader and reported over 85% year-on-year growth in its fourth quarter. It now has more than 1,500 employees across Asia Pacific & Japan and plans to establish headquarters in Singapore. Databricks works with over 1,000 partners regionally and 8,000 globally through its Brickbuilder Partner Network. The company's AWS business has surpassed a $1 billion run rate. International Data Corporation forecasts Asia/Pacific AI spending will reach $175 billion by 2028.
