Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all electrical engineering and project execution activities.
• Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of:
  • HT/LT electrical systems
  • Transformers and switchgear
  • DG sets, UPS and battery systems
  • Electrical panels and distribution systems
  • Lighting and power distribution
  • Earthing and lightning protection
  • ELV/BMS/automation systems, where applicable.
• Review BOQ, estimates, tender documents, technical specifications and contractor proposals.
• Monitor electrical works at site and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project schedules.
• Ensure QA/QC of electrical installations and verify materials, workmanship and test reports.
• Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire & Safety, Architecture and other engineering teams.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and government authorities.
• Monitor project progress, identify technical issues and provide suitable engineering solutions.
• Review method statements, inspection/test plans and commissioning procedures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS/IEC standards, CEA requirements, electrical safety regulations and project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and technical audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Ensure implementation of electrical safety procedures, including isolation, testing and safe working practices.
• Prepare technical reports, progress reports and recommendations for management.
• Support project planning, cost control, procurement and vendor evaluation.
• Lead and mentor electrical engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Resolve technical issues during construction, testing and commissioning.

Experience

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and project management.
• Strong experience in building/infrastructure, railway/metro, industrial or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience in design review, site supervision, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Experience in managing electrical contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical design and engineering principles.
• Excellent knowledge of HT/LT systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, DG, UPS, lighting, earthing and power distribution.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and statutory compliance.
• Strong understanding of BOQ, estimation, tendering and contract administration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of electrical design/project management software will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work at Shimla/on-site and undertake site inspections as required.

The Shimla requirement is particularly suitable for a senior professional who has hands-on exposure to electrical infrastructure and can manage site execution while coordinating with utilities, consultants and contractors. Current Shimla-area electrical project roles similarly emphasize substations, HV/EHV systems, SCADA/automation, safety and project leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems will be an added advantage.
• Professional certifications in project management or electrical safety will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Revit Architecture and architectural drafting, with the ability to convert design information into accurate BIM models and construction documentation. Candidates with experience in multidisciplinary coordination and international BIM projects will be preferred.
