Requirements
  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree, higher education qualification, or equivalent in Marketing specialization or a related field.
  • Two to four years of experience in a hospitality or hotel marketing setting with direct supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must speak the local language.
Responsibilities
  • Sell hotel products and services using up-selling and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Prepare and execute action plans to increase reservation sales and associated business.
  • Record special billing arrangements for groups and conventions.
  • Liaise with the Guest Service Leader or Finance Manager for reservations requiring credit approval.
  • Maintain knowledge of special rates, offers, and promotions.
  • Monitor reservation levels and inform managers about current and future occupancy rates.
  • Prepare reports as requested, including reports for travel agents and business houses.
  • Prepare reservation sales reports.
  • Promote a one-team approach and reliable service through daily communication and coordination with team members.
  • Work with the superior on manpower planning and management needs.
  • Work with the superior in preparing and managing the department budget.
  • Answer guest inquiries in accordance with brand standards.
  • Handle guest complaints appropriately or direct them to the Guest Service Leader.
  • Handle special needs and requests from guests and repeat visitors.
  • Process reservation amendments, including extensions and early departures.
  • Investigate and record no-show reservations.
  • Record and process reservations made by phone, fax, or email.
  • Accept wait-list reservations.
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards, behaviours, hallmarks, and license agreement mandates.
  • Handle telephone inquiries efficiently and effectively.
  • Work across hotel departments to address specific business challenges.
  • Manage and promote the hotel on the IHG brand website.
  • Produce monthly reports as required.
  • Follow Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure work is conducted safely.
  • Follow property safety, first-aid, fire, and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely.
  • Support corporate responsibility initiatives involving community involvement, environmental management, workplace health and safety, and food safety.
  • Drive action plans as required to achieve hotel corporate responsibility objectives.
  • Participate in hotel corporate social responsibility activities in a timely manner.
