Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, education, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning is required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are required, including the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.
  • Five years of teaching experience at a high school or college level are required.
Responsibilities
  • Support OnRamps instructors in implementing courses with fidelity along the OnRamps Four Pillars.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders by providing customer service, technical support, and problem-solving.
  • Co-develop and implement annual professional learning institutes during summer, fall, and spring in collaboration with course leads, the OnRamps Assistant Director, and the Professional Learning and Development team.
  • Implement ongoing professional development and learning activities through weekly communication, monthly virtual meetings, and professional learning institutes.
  • Use standardized relationship-building strategies to cultivate and lead a facilitated network of OnRamps instructors.
  • Develop and implement interventions for instructors with implementation challenges and instructors onboarded after annual summer institutes and throughout the academic year, including virtual meetings, coaching support, video examples, and video streaming into classes.
  • Use data and data science methodologies to ensure fidelity of implementation of OnRamps courses, including monitoring instructor engagement, pacing, and submissions.
  • Support fidelity of implementation through instructor resources and investigations of academic integrity.
  • Facilitate an instructor support system using mentor instructors and online platforms to provide extra support for new OnRamps instructors.
  • Sustain a virtual community for instructors across Texas using online platforms and mentor instructors.
  • Support and engage in designated special projects that support the mission and strategic direction of OnRamps.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Chemistry, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience providing support or instructional coaching to teachers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Canvas Learning Management System or another learning management system is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet or another project management system is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach is preferred.
  • Three years of teaching experience at a high school or college level is preferred.
