Arcadis and Tetra Tech appointed to £519M irish Rail framework. October 22, 2026 Arcadis and Tetra Tech have been appointed to a five-year Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) framework for rail infrastructure projects, which has an estimated value of up to £519M (€600M). The joint venture is one of five selected suppliers on the Multi-Party Framework for Project MDC PMP Phases 1-5. The framework will run for five years, with the option of three one-year extensions. It will provide access to opportunities to deliver advisory and design services across all stages of the project lifecycle and support delivery of the All Island Strategic Rail Review. Arcadis and Tetra Tech, alongside supply chain partners including Idom, will provide design and engineering, environmental, advisory, programme management and project management services. The framework will support projects aimed at decarbonising transport, improving connectivity and accessibility, and developing a more sustainable and integrated transport system. The programme is intended to help transform Ireland's rail network by providing faster, more reliable and accessible services. It will also support decarbonisation through electrification, making rail a more attractive alternative to private car travel. Arcadis and Tetra Tech were selected following an evaluation process that highlighted "the joint venture's expertise, local knowledge and track record in delivering complex rail programmes", said a statement for the firms.

DEPT partners with Arcadis on AI-powered website.

DEPT partners with Arcadis on AI-powered website. The platform aims to help clients find relevant information and expertise more efficiently while giving Arcadis greater insight into audience behaviour and opportunities for growth. DEPT, The Growth Invention Company, has partnered with global design and consultancy firm Arcadis to transform its website into an intelligent digital platform designed to improve information discovery, generate demand and attract talent. The partnership reflects a shift towards treating the website as an evolving digital product rather than a static online destination. DEPT and Arcadis develop an AI-powered platform. The platform combines AI-powered search, enhanced audience insights and a content operating model designed to help Arcadis understand what clients are looking for, how they interact with its content and where new opportunities emerge. Robyn Gillrie, Global Market Development Director, Arcadis: "From the outset, the ambition was to create more than a website. We wanted to apply imagination to a challenge many businesses face: making it easier for clients to quickly find the information and expertise they need, exactly when they need it. The new platform provides clients with a digital experience that enables them to learn quicker and move faster, turning digital engagement into stronger growth opportunities. Our new website now connects the audiences we serve to the depth and breadth of Arcadis expertise and support." Arcadis uses data to improve digital performance. Since launch, the platform has generated qualified leads and delivered measurable improvements in performance and discoverability, according to the companies. The results highlight the role of data-driven digital experiences in connecting audiences with relevant services and expertise. The project also introduced governance models, workflows and content operations that enable teams across Arcadis' global organisation to manage and develop the platform over time. These processes are intended to support continuous improvement and help the website evolve alongside the business. DEPT focuses on digital transformation and growth. Carryn Quibell, Americas CEO, DEPT: "Too many enterprise websites function as digital brochures. Together with Arcadis, we set out to build a platform that doesn't just describe the business. It actively supports its growth. By combining AI, data, and a product mindset, Arcadis now has a digital experience that can evolve as quickly as the business itself." The partnership adds to DEPT's work with global organisations seeking to modernise customer experiences, improve the value of their digital ecosystems and accelerate growth through technology.

Arcadis to sell most of its architecture business and cut 1,000 staff following WSP's failed takeover bid.

Arcadis to sell most of its architecture business and cut 1,000 staff following WSP's failed takeover bid. World's third biggest employer of architects to focus on sectors 'where structural demand is strongest' The Curv, a 60-storey passivhaus tower in Vancouver designed by Arcadis' architecture business Arcadis is planning to sell most of its architecture business and cut 1,000 full-time staff from its wider business as part of a restructure following a failed takeover bid by WSP. The consultant said it is "actively changing its portfolio" by concentrating investment in sectors and markets where "structural demand is strongest". Arcadis is currently ranked as the world's third biggest employer of architects, with 1,781 architects on its payroll out of a total headcount of around 34,000, according to this year's WA100 list of the world's biggest practices. It claimed its "rightsizing" strategy will see mid-single-digit revenue growth and increase its operating EBITDA margin by around 100 basis points to approximately 14.5% by 2027-2029. Arcadis unveiled plans for the restructure in its home city of Amsterdam at the end of last month, just a week after WSP formally abandoned its intended takeover of the firm. WSP said on 23 September that it had been "unable to engage" with Arcadis after having two bids that valued the Dutch consultant at around £3.8bn turned down over the summer. Sectors which Arcadis said it wants to focus on include transportation and energy and water, which account for a combined 53% of net revenues. It is targeting net revenue growth of mid to high single digits for transportation and high single digits for energy and water. The firm is also seeking high single digit growth in high-growth sectors such as industrial manufacturing and technology, which account for 21% of revenues. The sector includes data centres, life sciences and semiconductor manufacturing. But it plans to divest "non-core" assets including the majority of its architecture business and China operations including its activities in real estate and development, which account for 26% of its net revenues. Arcadis chief executive Heather Polinsky said the restructure is "designed to translate our strategic strengths into stronger growth, higher margins and cash generation". "We are building a more focused, higher-performing Arcadis that delivers sustainable value for shareholders, our people and our clients," Polinsky said. Chief financial officer Simon Crowe added: "The financial rationale is compelling: a more focused portfolio, a structurally lower cost base and disciplined capital allocation will support higher margins, stronger cash generation and sustainable shareholder returns." Arcadis' entry into the architecture sector stared with its acquisition of US practice RTKL in 2007, followed by its acquisition of Seattle-based Callison in 2014. It merged the two practices to form CallisonRTKL in 2015 with the business later referred to as CRTKL. Arcadis has long considered selling its architecture arm, first tabling the move in 2017 before recommitting to the sector before acquiring Canadian multi-disciplinary firm IBI Group in 2022. Arcadis then combined CRTKL and IBI Group to create its Architecture and Urbanism division. Most commented. No comments yet. You're not signed in.
