Requirements
  • An MD or DO with an active and unrestricted Alaska medical license, or the ability to obtain an Alaska medical license, is required.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology is required.
  • An unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration registration is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of allopathic medicine and the specialty of neurology is required.
  • Specialty knowledge of therapies for neurologic disorders is required.
  • The role requires oral and written communication skills, clinical judgment, and appropriate and judicious use of laboratory and imaging tests.
  • The role requires the ability to gather and analyze information and make advanced clinical determinations.
  • The role requires the ability to work cooperatively with patients, other health professionals, and support staff.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient neurological services, including evaluations, clinical analysis, diagnosis, and ongoing therapy recommendations.
  • Perform inpatient neurology consultations at the request of Mt. Edgecumbe primary care providers.
  • Participate in medical staff functions as requested, including quality assurance.
  • Abide by medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
