Requirements
  • The candidate must have experience or training in laboratory techniques, especially basic wet chemistry.
  • Experience in sample preparation for isotope analysis and analytical experience is preferred but not required.
  • The preferred candidate will have coursework training or experience in geochemistry.
  • Candidates with a Master of Science in a technical field that includes chemistry are encouraged to apply.
  • The candidate must bring professionalism, dependability, and safety consciousness to the job.
Responsibilities
  • Clean laboratory ware.
  • Weigh samples and standards.
  • Perform routine sample preparation using acidic reagents.
  • Use and prepare acid solutions.
  • Assist with routine running and general maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
  • Complete other laboratory-specific tasks as needed on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work in the LIME isotope-ratio mass spectrometry laboratory and gain experience with EA-IRMS and GB-IRMS.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in sample preparation for isotope analysis.
  • Analytical experience.
  • Coursework training or experience in geochemistry.
  • A Master of Science in a technical field that includes chemistry.
