Requirements
  • A high school diploma.
  • Completion of a Commission on Higher Education Accreditation- and Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology-accredited technologist training program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography certification.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in diagnostic imaging in a Level 1 hospital setting.
  • Proven clinical work experience within the past 12 months.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulders during the work shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, lift up to 20 pounds, carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance, and push or pull with 30 pounds of force.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine to complex radiographic examination procedures using diagnostic X-ray equipment, including fluoroscopic units, chest units, and general diagnostic units.
  • Prepare contrast materials under the direction of a radiologist for examinations requiring injectable solutions, including intravenous pyelograms, cystograms, cholangiograms, fistulagrams, and arthrography.
  • Perform oral and rectal examinations using injectable solutions.
  • Operate a fully digital X-ray system and highly technical digital and computerized radiographic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment used in diagnostic radiologic procedures and make minor repairs or adjustments.
