Requirements
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future; candidates qualifying for TN classification must secure and maintain their own authorization.
  • Ability to demonstrate all key qualifications of a Drafter 1.
  • Current expertise in CadWorx and/or Plant 3D.
  • Knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific criteria.
  • Experience with site layout, utility design, boundary and easement plans, alignment sheets, and details.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry concepts.
  • Excellent computer and internet skills and thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Ability to adhere to company and industry design and drafting standards.
  • Ability to work independently, work with all levels of management, prioritize tasks, resolve problems, and follow through.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record.
  • Ability to travel for work, expected to be less than 10%.
  • Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, Graphic Arts, or a related field.
  • Three to seven years of primary project work experience.
  • Advanced training and experience using AutoCAD products as a primary function of work.
  • Intermediate or advanced training and experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of civil, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering, survey data, or experience working with engineering firms.
Responsibilities
  • Work on energy infrastructure drafting and design projects.
  • Create plans and drafting deliverables for infrastructure and utilities.
  • Adhere to company and industry design and drafting standards.
  • Assist the Drafting and Design Coordinator and/or Senior Drafter in reviewing other drafters' work for accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Create overall project sheet layouts and criteria.
  • Use advanced AutoCAD skills to set up projects and relationships between drawings and other files.
  • Create 3D objects in Civil 3D, including points, surfaces, alignments, and profiles.
  • Understand and manage User, Plant, and Geographic Coordinate Systems.
  • Understand the difference and relationship between real-world coordinates and plant-grid coordinates in 2D and 3D model backgrounds.
  • Follow established technical specifications to prepare drawings and assist in design drafting.
  • Consult with engineers regarding model accuracy and design parameters.
  • Work with the drafting team, Drafting and Design Coordinator, Senior Drafter, Senior Designer, engineers, and project managers.
  • Perform related duties as required.
