Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in finance systems, enterprise resource planning implementation, business process improvement, preferably within finance, or a similar role.
  • Experience with Workday; experience with other enterprise resource planning systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in product management, project management, or process optimization.
  • Project management skills, including Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of business process analysis and process mapping.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance technical understanding with business priorities.
  • Ability to draft documentation and training manuals.
  • Ability to train and support staff.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to analyze, describe, present, and review complex processes and suggest pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to challenge and question existing processes and suggest improvements.
  • Proven ability to deal with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Identify departmental needs and translate them into clear product requirements.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements with department management based on impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational standards, compliance requirements, and long-term strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including OMT, enterprise resource planning, data, and leadership teams, to deliver internal solutions.
  • Manage product roadmaps, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
  • Evaluate new Workday releases, assess their impact on Finance processes, and coordinate adoption of beneficial functionality.
  • Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the system day to day after implementation.
  • Provide training and support to Finance staff on system usage and best practices.
  • Support and train the wider user community, with support from stream leads in sourcing, supplier account, inventory, and procurement.
  • Collaborate with external implementation partners and vendors to ensure compliance with system requirements and resolve issues.
  • Document process and workflow changes and maintain current process maps, training materials, and desk instructions.
  • Support Workday project workstreams covering Financial Accounting and tax, Budgets, Banking and Settlement, Customer Accounts, Expenses, Business Assets, Projects and Project Billing, Reporting, and Timetracking.
  • Ensure Finance requirements relating to project costing, payroll accounting, and financial reporting are appropriately supported.
  • Work in an office environment with occasional travel for training and meetings.
  • Work extended hours during peak periods when required.

Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung funds EMBL €7M

Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung has committed €7 million to support the EMBL Imaging Centre in Heidelberg, enhancing its development of cutting-edge imaging technologies. This is the second funding round from BIS, following an initial €5 million in 2017. The funding will help recruit and maintain highly qualified staff, furthering the centre's role as a leading international hub for advanced microscopy technologies and training, having supported over 290 projects from 27 countries since mid-2021.
