Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience as a construction field engineer, project engineer, or assistant project manager with a heavy civil self-performing contractor; concrete experience is preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated through the ability to guide, motivate, and develop others.
  • A team-oriented background grounded in trust, accountability, and shared success.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in executing projects through communication, coordination, and attention to detail.
  • Manage services projects by representing the company in meetings, conducting pre-job planning with superintendents, and monitoring projects daily.
  • Manage new construction projects at the discretion of the Vice President of Construction.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing through pre- and post-bid strategies, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain subcontractor relationships.
  • Use AutoCAD for casting bed and crane layouts; evaluate site conditions and recommend suitable equipment, including cranes, pumps, and loaders; conduct pre-project inspections; verify site layout details; and contribute to estimating during pre-bid and post-construction phases.
  • Manage project material submittals, approvals, and lead times with the Project Coordinator to meet project timelines.
  • Manage end-to-end concrete design, including specification review, quality control, operational support, and post-project analysis.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure performance aligns with project timelines and quality standards while promoting communication and collaboration.
  • Manage crane-operation coordination, including scheduling and communication with the superintendent.
  • Travel to project sites for preconstruction meetings, quality control, and safety inspections.
  • Manage project costs through initial budgeting, invoice evaluation, expense tracking, and monthly project billings.
  • Assist with project closeout meetings, including documentation review, final approvals, and project handover to clients.
  • Support the project team in executing detailed pre-job planning.
  • Manage co-ops and interns to ensure productive contributions and professional development.
