We are seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS, cloud security, systems architecture, and DevOps tooling. As a Principal DevOps Engineer at Gram Games, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust infrastructure, improving system performance, and implementing comprehensive monitoring solutions. Your work will be critical in ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and highly available, supporting both current operations and future growth.
In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of platform architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems. You’ll collaborate with teams across the organization to optimize workflow processes, ensure system reliability, and uphold security standards. Your expertise in AWS and cloud services, along with your ability to solve complex infrastructure challenges, will be instrumental in scaling our platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance our continuous delivery tools, pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Improve and expand monitoring and alerting systems for comprehensive coverage of all hosted services.
- Research, develop, and implement new platforms and technologies to streamline workflows and support future projects.
- Ensure security standards are met by analyzing, reviewing, and enforcing network, data, and communication security.
- Design, implement, and maintain platform architectures that prioritize scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
- Manage Git repositories, build systems, and address performance issues in the build pipeline.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Prepare technical documentation for systems and tools.
- Own problems end-to-end, applying your knowledge to solve technical challenges as they arise.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and continuously improve systems.
- Define and track key metrics to monitor system performance and effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
- Strong understanding of game development pipelines and build systems.
- Proven experience with cloud services and tools, including AWS, GCP, Docker, and more.
- Expertise in AWS systems, such as EC2, RDS, Redshift, EKS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
- Solid experience with Linux, MacOS, and scripting languages like Bash and Python.
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and build system administration.
- Experience troubleshooting and deploying in a production environment.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Desired Skills:
- Experience programming in Go.
- Familiarity with network programming, including WebSockets.
- Knowledge of scalable and highly available system architectures.
- Familiarity with Nakama or similar backend solutions.
