Requirements

A Master's Degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner degree emphasis or equivalent program certificate.
Official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner in the state where the team member is working.
Prescriptive authority for the state in which the team member is working.
A controlled substance license for the state in which the team member is working.
A federal Drug Enforcement Administration license.

Responsibilities

Provide primary health care to a specific patient population within written protocols and established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.
Diagnose and treat diseases, defects, or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
Complete charting, summaries, correspondence, and other paperwork required to document care and billing.
Participate in physician educational programs related to capitated medicine and its implications for physician practice patterns.
Respond to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
Participate in establishing quality assurance programs and utilization management programs.
Participate in selecting management information systems.
Participate in developing patient education services and patient satisfaction surveys.
Assist in developing operational and capital budgets.
Participate in operational assessments to identify revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies, and billing opportunities.
Maintain courteous and cooperative working relationships with management, employees, physicians, patients, guarantors, and the general public.
Participate in activities that further the public image of the employer.

Job Summary

Accountabilities

Engages in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental or functional ailments or defects.
Performs all charting, summaries, correspondence and assorted paperwork that is required for purposes of documenting care and billing.
Participates in physician educational programs provided by Employer relative to capitated medicine and its implications on physician practice patterns.
Participates in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
Participates in:

Minimum Requirements

Master's Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
