Requirements
  • A Master of Arts in a relevant field, such as art education, and/or relevant professional experience as a visual artist or artist-educator.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sculpture as an art form involving diverse materials worked into three-dimensional art objects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary sculpture.
  • Practical experience with construction, composition, and the elements of design.
  • Knowledge of tools and materials used to create sculptures.
  • Previous experience teaching similar undergraduate or graduate courses and/or equivalent relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • Experience as a visual arts teacher in the Quebec educational system.
  • Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
  • Knowledge of and a proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with MyCourses, Zoom, and similar online platforms for teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
  • English verbal and written communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Teach EDEA 496-001, Sculpture 1, covering basic sculpture methods and concepts, developing personal aptitudes, and three-dimensional thinking through direct experience with processes using new and traditional materials.
  • Teach the course in person at the Education Building on Tuesdays from 8:35 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset.
  • Familiarity with teaching blended classes is an asset.

Club M&A and McGill's Dobson Centre launch acquisition programme as $218B in Canadian businesses set for ownership transition

Club M&A Canada and McGill's Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship have opened registration for their first Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition programme. The intensive four-day course, running 27–30 October in Montreal, targets professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in acquiring existing small or medium-sized businesses. The programme addresses a significant succession challenge in Canada. According to the Business Development Bank of Canada, nearly one in five Canadian businesses will undergo ownership transition within five years, representing over $300 billion in business revenue. Marc Deegan, founder of R33 Ventures, will serve as programme director. The curriculum covers developing investment theses, target evaluation, financial and legal considerations, acquisition financing, and post-acquisition transition. Instructors include transaction professionals, lawyers, tax specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with acquisition experience. Admission is by application, with no prior M&A experience required.
