Title: Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of utility and infrastructure construction projects from initial scoping through final commissioning. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving schedules, managing budgets, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards. You will serve as a key representative of the client’s interests, providing guidance and oversight to ensure project goals are achieved on time and within budget.
Your Day-to-Day Activities:
· Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource estimates from bid through closeout.
· Define project scopes, baseline schedules, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
· Establish and maintain project budgets, financial controls, and forecasting tools.
· Coordinate labor, equipment, and material needs to ensure alignment with scope and cost constraints.
· Manage subcontractors and field operations to achieve timely execution.
· Track performance metrics and variance against project baselines.
· Review and analyze cost reports, schedule data, and productivity benchmarks.
· Maintain records for change orders, contract modifications, and contingency releases.
· Lead project meetings, including scoping, constructability reviews, design reviews, and closeouts.
· Review and interpret plans, specifications, blueprints, and contracts.
· Travel to job sites to assess conditions, confirm progress, and validate execution plans.
· Administer contracts, process submittals and change orders, and manage RFIs.
· Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards, including OSHA.
· Implement and manage project management tools and software.
· Provide timely status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
· Document and distribute meeting notes, action items, risk registers, and decision logs.
· Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
· Represent the client in discussions with vendors, subcontractors, and local agencies.
· Collaborate closely with engineers, superintendents, and owner representatives to resolve project issues.
· Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
· Manage project changes with discipline, ensuring proper approval and documentation.
· Capture and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement.
The Job Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED
· 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a project leadership role.
· Strong working knowledge of project management principles, project financials, and field operations.
· Familiarity with project management software such as HCSS.
· Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean record.
· Leadership mindset, with previous experience managing teams of 10+ (direct & indirect)
You’ll stand out if you have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
· Recent experience with Primavera P6
· Experience in utility construction (distribution, transmission, or related sectors).
· Hands-on experience with HCSS Heavy Bid or Heavy Job.
· PMP or equivalent project management certification.
· Deep familiarity with OSHA standards and safety-first jobsite leadership.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with stakeholders and field personnel.
· A clear communication style and a passion for continuous improvement.
