Requirements
  • 10+ years of sales experience, including 5+ years of technology sales leadership at the director level or above.
  • Experience leading a direct sales team; this is not a channel or distribution role.
  • Prior sales leadership in software, professional services or consulting, or managed services.
  • Experience leading B2B sales teams across both enterprise and middle-market customers; a background in pure SMB will not be considered.
  • A track record of exemplary performance and sustained year-over-year sales growth.
  • Working knowledge of solution selling or a consultative sales methodology.
  • Prior experience as a Chief Revenue Officer is required.
  • Applicants should have a background in cybersecurity, managed security service providers, IT operations, cyber compliance, or governance, risk, and compliance; this is strongly preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge with Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel SIEM, CrowdStrike NextGen SIEM, Google SecOps, Rapid7, Exabeam, IBM QRadar, Palo Alto Cortex, SentinelOne, Dynatrace Observability, or governance, risk, and compliance solutions is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the sales organization for AI security and AI compliance services and software, and deliver growth targets.
  • Own new-business and expansion revenue targets across software resale, services, and recurring revenue.
  • Lead direct sales, channel sales, sales engineering, and a potential sales development representative or business development representative team.
  • Manage for margin and revenue mix, including balancing higher- and lower-margin business and ensuring sellers do not sell on price.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain account executives, sales engineers or solution architects, and sales development representatives.
  • Ensure sales enablement supports the ongoing development of sales team members, and develop an internal talent pipeline to scale the organization.
  • Set the sales process and methodology, and determine how performance is managed.
  • Set quotas and territories, and produce accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts.
  • Design compensation plans that reward desired sales behavior, such as selling services alongside software or securing multi-year deals, and align them with industry best practices.
  • Own pipeline health, including coverage ratios, deal stages, win rates, and sales cycle length.
  • Run deal reviews and forecast calls, and maintain clean customer relationship management data.
  • Work with marketing on lead definitions, handoffs, and marketing-sourced pipeline expectations tied to the marketing revenue plan.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, including partner tier status, certifications, deal registration, and margin incentives.
  • Drive co-selling with vendor sales teams and use vendor programs such as marketplace listings, proof-of-concept funding, and market development funds.
  • Oversee strategic account plans, executive relationships, and renewals.
  • Drive account growth by turning projects into managed services, add-on offerings, and multi-year relationships.
  • Coordinate with delivery leaders to ensure the team sells work that can be delivered profitably, taking staffing capacity and utilization into account.
  • Own the marketing and demand-generation team and function.
  • Set marketing pipeline and revenue targets as part of the company’s overall revenue plan.
  • Allocate the marketing budget across demand generation, events, content, and brand based on pipeline and revenue efficiency.
  • Set marketing accountability measures, including sourced pipeline, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost, and return on marketing spend.

  • Software sales leadership is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of AI security and AI compliance services, including AI agent inventory, preventing data leakage, securing AI agents, and implementing AI tools, is relevant to the sales organization’s service areas.
  • Knowledge of AI standards and frameworks such as ISO 42001 and NIST AI RMF is relevant to the sales organization’s service areas.
  • Knowledge of SIEM, data analytics, security operations, and observability services is relevant to the sales organization’s service areas.
