Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience building and scaling business-to-business growth engines in growth, performance marketing, revenue operations, sales engineering, or an equivalent area, with clear ownership of results.
  • Deep comfort with analytics and funnel diagnostics, including customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, retention, conversion, and payback, plus the judgment to prioritize effectively.
  • Regularly implement artificial intelligence, automation, and modern go-to-market tooling to increase throughput and quality.
  • Maintain high standards for data integrity and process consistency while executing cross-functionally under tight timelines.
  • Communicate effectively and manage stakeholders across Product, Sales, Operations, and leadership, driving alignment without consensus paralysis.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a playbook to bring low-growth services businesses to hypergrowth.
  • Engineer a high-velocity experimentation program across messaging, channels, targeting, pricing, and the sales process, and turn successful experiments into repeatable playbooks.
  • Deploy artificial intelligence and automation to eliminate manual go-to-market work, including lead enrichment, segmentation, personalization, sequencing, and routing, and improve speed-to-lead.
  • Build the data foundation, including standardized lifecycle stages, customer relationship management hygiene, dashboards, and a weekly operating cadence that leadership can trust.
  • Standardize go-to-market infrastructure and playbooks across acquired firms, and accelerate post-acquisition funnel integration and performance lift.

Modus raises $85M to acquire accounting firms and build AI audit agents

Modus, which acquires majority stakes in accounting advisory entities, has raised $85 million in combined seed and Series A funding, CEO Arush Jain tells Axios. Lightspeed led both rounds, with $5 million in seed funding and $80 million in Series A. Comma Capital and Garry Tan also participated. The company builds AI agents for audit workflows, including data extraction, financial standardisation and workpaper generation. Each output links back to source documents for verification. Modus differentiates itself from traditional private equity buyers by taking majority stakes through alternative practice structures, acquiring advisory entities rather than CPA firms directly.
