  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A current Registered Nurse license or eligibility for licensure in the applicable state is required.
  • Progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital or complex healthcare system, including significant experience at the senior or executive leadership level, is required.
  • Demonstrated success leading improvements in quality, patient safety, clinical outcomes, nursing excellence, workforce engagement, and patient experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with physicians, executive leaders, quality teams, and interdisciplinary stakeholders is required.
  • Strong financial, operational, strategic planning, and workforce management capabilities are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and develop high-performing teams in a complex healthcare environment is required.
  • Executive presence with exceptional communication, collaboration, relationship-building, and leadership skills is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing and patient care services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Establish and advance the vision for nursing practice, professional development, shared governance, clinical excellence, and the patient care delivery model.
  • Partner with physician, quality, and executive leaders to improve clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, regulatory performance, and nursing-sensitive outcomes.
  • Lead efforts to achieve and/or sustain Magnet recognition or Magnet-level nursing excellence, including professional nursing practice, engagement, leadership development, and evidence-based practice.
  • Drive improvement in Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade performance and other nationally recognized quality and patient safety measures.
  • Promote a culture of high reliability, accountability, transparency, safety, and continuous improvement, empowering team members to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use clinical, workforce, operational, and financial data to establish priorities, measure performance, and drive sustainable improvements in patient and organizational outcomes.
  • Develop strategies to recruit, retain, engage, recognize, and develop a high-performing nursing workforce and ensure effective leadership succession planning.
  • Ensure appropriate nursing staffing, skill mix, resource allocation, and workforce planning to support patient safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and organizational growth.
  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians, nursing leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and other key stakeholders to advance clinical and organizational priorities.
  • Oversee nursing budgets, staffing plans, organizational structure, technology, and resources while maintaining appropriate financial and operational stewardship.
  • Ensure nursing practices, policies, programs, and services comply with professional, accreditation, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Represent nursing on hospital and system leadership councils and serve as an advocate for nursing within the organization and community.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a Magnet-designated organization and/or leading an organization toward Magnet designation or redesignation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade performance, high-reliability practices, nursing-sensitive indicators, and other nationally recognized quality and safety measures is preferred.

Florida cancer centre opens 31,000 sq ft St Petersburg facility with on-site imaging

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County. The location at 725 6th Ave South features 18 private exam rooms, 47 infusion chairs and on-site PET/CT imaging. The facility offers advanced treatments including bispecific therapies and clinical trial participation, with plans to expand outpatient cell therapy programmes.
