Job Description
As the Human Resources Manager, you will have the opportunity to support and partner with our Fiberon Brand plant leadership to implement HR strategies and offer guidance on policies and procedures across a two-shift operation with 3 locations and approximately 300 employees, while also acting as an employee advocate and change agent. In this role, you will guide and manage (3) HR Generalists and collaborate with the core Fortune Brands HR COE to deliver value-added services that support organizational decision-making and drive overall success.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and at least (8+) years of comprehensive HR experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong skills in employee relations, change management, and project management are essential and should be adept at building rapport, influencing stakeholders, and providing effective HR solutions.
This role is onsite in New London, NC and relocation assistance is available.
What you will be doing:
- Establish partnerships with Operations functions as an active member of leadership teams.
- Serve as the primary HR liaison for Operations, consulting on HR matters and collaborating with HR leadership or legal teams on complex issues.
- Provide meaningful analytics to support decision-making across Operations and support functions.
- Manage performance, development, and staffing of direct reports.
- Offer strategic and tactical HR support, including performance management, talent management, organization effectiveness, and policy management.
- Act as a business partner and coach to Plant Leadership, guide talent reviews, succession planning, and change facilitation.
- Drive staffing strategies, support talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts.
- Ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations, and support change management initiatives.
- Promote associate engagement and organizational development, making recommendations for improvement and managing projects.
- Uphold policies consistently and in compliance with legal requirements, fostering a positive associate relations environment.
- Resolve associate concerns proactively, manage conflict resolution, and assist in disciplinary actions as needed.
- Stay current on HR trends, technology, and labor market developments.
- Participate in cross-functional teams, project initiatives, and other assigned duties.
- Champion safety and help minimize business risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of HR experience, including HR consulting, talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation, performance management, and employee relations.
- At least 5 years of experience as a human resources generalist in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven interpersonal, leadership, and organizational development skills.
- Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and provide effective solutions across all associate levels.
- Effective in a business partner role, with strong influence and coaching skills to shape a performance-focused culture.
- Skilled in change management, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and project management.
- Proficient in communication, presentation, and facilitation at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated capability to work proactively with minimal supervision and manage employment law issues.
- Experience with HRIS, time & attendance software, and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in guiding and managing teams, with a preference for change management and process improvement expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or advanced degree.
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification.
