Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and grow a quality loan portfolio while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Identify and develop new lending and deposit relationships within the Greenbrier market.
  • Meet with prospective and existing customers to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
  • Interview loan applicants and obtain necessary financial and credit information.
  • Evaluate loan requests, financial information, collateral, credit history, and other relevant factors to determine creditworthiness.
  • Structure loan requests in accordance with the bank’s lending policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with Credit Analysts, Loan Assistants, and other team members throughout the lending process.
  • Monitor existing loan relationships and proactively address changes in credit quality, documentation, or customer needs.
  • Develop new business through referrals, networking, community involvement, and relationship-building activities.
  • Represent First Service Bank throughout the Greenbrier community and actively promote the bank’s products and services.
  • Maintain knowledge of lending regulations, bank policies, products, and industry trends.
  • Perform other lending and business development projects and tasks as assigned.

Matlock brings more than 26 years of experience in banking and commercial real estate, with extensive expertise in commercial lending, residential construction lending, treasury management, and relationship banking. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender at another Northwest Arkansas Bank. Throughout her career, she has also held leadership roles with large banks in Arkansas. In her new role, Matlock will lead business development efforts throughout Northwest Arkansas by cultivating strong relationships across the community and connecting businesses and individuals with customized lending and deposit solutions. She will help clients achieve their financial goals while delivering the relationship-focused service that defines First Service Bank. In her new role, she will continue supporting customers through Video Teller Machine (VTM) services and online banking while taking on additional leadership responsibilities, including managing Commercial Online Banking service setups, overseeing mobile deposits, assisting with online account openings, maintaining VTM machine balances, and helping coach and manage the team of Customer Care Specialists as they continue delivering superior service to customers. A Conway native and graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and an emphasis in Supply Chain Management, Kara began her banking career at First Service Bank and has grown alongside the organization throughout her seven-year career.
