Requirements
  • A four-year college degree is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of solid sales results, such as life, health, and annuity or investment sales, and alignment with providing clients holistic, purpose-based advice.
  • Experience leading groups, specifically presenting and facilitating to drive understanding of concepts and practices that lead to new financial advisor success.
  • A professional designation or significant progress toward achieving one is preferred.
  • Experience using the Thrivent Financial Advice Process, Salesforce, and other Thrivent tools and systems, with the ability and willingness to model, promote, and demonstrate their usage as needed.
  • Ability to use technology effectively to coach and train new financial advisors.
  • Willingness and ability to commit to joint fieldwork expectations.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63, 65, or 66 licensing is required or must be obtained within 90 days.
  • State insurance licensing and appointments in life, health, and variable lines of authority are required or must be attained within 90 days.
  • State securities registration and insurance licensing and appointments are required in all states comprising the market or aligned to assigned financial advisors.
  • A satisfactory background check and clean compliance record are required.
  • Ability to travel within the region, potentially overnight, up to 50%, and conduct business during evening hours.
  • Must have a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Demonstrated track record of satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct joint fieldwork scheduled by new financial advisors to observe and provide feedback, including support for case preparation, consultation, and delivery.
  • Demonstrate, model, and coach use of Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro, the Thrivent Planning Platform, and other Thrivent advice tools during the sales process.
  • Serve as the primary contact for financial advisors developing sales goals and help analyze gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Help financial advisors develop and execute marketing plans leveraging natural-market relationships, referrals, and communities.
  • Advise financial advisors on activities that will enable them to achieve their sales goals.
  • Serve as an extension of the field training team to enable development and execution of advisor training deliverables.
  • Support existing practices in launching client-facing sales roles onto their teams.
  • Create onboarding approaches that fit development paths within teams.
  • Communicate consistently with existing teams and leadership about strengths and development gaps.
  • Work with teams to connect support and core training needs to delivery of purpose-based advice.
  • Work with market and area leadership to support talent referrals.
  • Influence market and area plans to drive total sales growth.
  • Inform leadership about financial advisor progress toward development and sales goals.
  • Facilitate connections with experienced financial advisors for additional joint fieldwork and support.
  • Leverage matrix partners to stay informed about best practices and changes affecting new financial advisor launches.
  • Work with the Community Engagement team to execute financial advisor growth plans.
  • Execute a plan to develop quality talent by understanding advisor development needs, staying current on processes and systems, and working with matrix partners for support.
  • Conduct selection interviews and assess candidates as needed in support of the market director.
