Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or active matriculation in a BSN program is required.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or another state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact is required.
  • Certifications required by department standards must be maintained.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care to patients throughout the life span, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience is required.
Responsibilities

  • Know and act in accordance with the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
  • Hold 24-hour responsibility for one or more patient units and direct and coordinate resources for care delivery to patients and families.
  • Support a trauma-informed, least restrictive healthcare environment free from coercion, retaliation, or discipline, and promote a workplace safety culture focused on reporting, staffing, communication, and prevention of adverse outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate assignment of patient care based on patient needs and acuity.
  • Set a strategic vision for the area using Magnet standards as a foundation for practice, design strategies supporting organizational goals, and set unit goals consistent with departmental and institutional objectives.
  • Monitor progress toward goals.
  • Schedule regular staff meetings to share operational information, quality and policy updates, unit information, and organizational news.
  • Develop employees by identifying educational opportunities and unit-based growth experiences, monitoring nursing care, and intervening when appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of accrediting and regulatory agency requirements and monitor unit compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organization-specific environmental and safety standards in collaboration with the Environmental Safety Program Manager, Safety Officer, and hospital quality and safety committees.
  • Implement unit-level quality improvement activities consistent with the hospital Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Participate in hospital, departmental, and system-wide committees and teams as needed by the department director.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide developmental feedback, and conduct ongoing assessments reviewed annually.
  • Meet with employees to discuss performance and review individual performance goals at appropriate intervals.
  • Follow the hospital performance counseling process for disciplinary issues.
  • Support and participate in Nursing, Educational, and Research programs.
  • Collaborate with staff, peers, and Professional Practice Development staff, including Clinical Nurse Specialists and Clinical Nurse Leaders, to update standards of care and meet educational needs.
  • Participate in new staff orientation by consulting Staff Development Professionals and monitoring and evaluating new employees' performance.
  • Develop and monitor capital and operating budgets for assigned patient areas according to institutional fiscal strategies.
  • Complete monthly variance reports, evaluate operations, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Work within the unit budget, monitor expenses, and control expenses against budget.
  • Evaluate budget variances and take appropriate action to align expenses with budget.
  • Analyze patient classification system information to identify changes required in the patient care budget.
  • Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control according to hospital department policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Interview applicants and recommend hiring conditions for new employees in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Assess internal and external customer requirements and needs and respond appropriately.
  • Obtain initial and annual Safety Care Level 1 certification when overseeing staff required to hold that certification.

(“TriSalus” or the “company”), an oncology company in the process of going public through a business combination transaction (the “Business Combination”) with MedTech Acquisition Corporation (Nasdaq: MTAC) (“MedTech” or “MTAC”), today announced that it has expanded the reach of its ongoing Pressure-Enabled Regional Immuno-Oncology™ (“PERIO™-01” and “PERIO™-02”) clinical program.In recent months TriSalus has opened five new PERIO™-01 (NCT04935229) clinical trial sites, at Stanford University Hospitals, University of California Los Angeles, University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Washington Medical Center and University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, in addition to five previously activated sites.
