Senior Business Analyst
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- At least 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role is required.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, and performance tuning, is required.
- Strong experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is required.
- Ability to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements is required.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is required.
- Experience in consulting environments or client-facing roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is preferred.
- Experience with data modeling and data governance practices is preferred.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or relevant BI certifications are preferred.
- Act as the primary bridge between client business stakeholders and development teams.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discovery sessions to gather and refine requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Build and maintain client relationships to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Elicit, document, and validate business and system requirements.
- Create user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and solution assessments.
- Ensure requirements are traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data from multiple sources.
- Perform data profiling, validation, and reconciliation to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with data engineers and developers to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Design and develop dashboards and reports using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Translate business questions into data-driven insights and visualizations.
- Support KPI definition, metric tracking, and executive reporting.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Partner with developers to ensure accurate understanding of requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies.
- Support testing efforts, including user acceptance testing planning and execution.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data or system issues.
