About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree, ideally in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • 1–2 years of experience using Python, including pandas and NumPy, for data analysis and writing robust data-processing code to enforce expected patterns, handle exceptions, and evaluate data usability and quality through exploratory data analyses.
  • Exposure to large-scale datasets; experience with healthcare claims or administrative data is a plus but is not required.
  • Ability to perform descriptive analysis and translate findings into clear charts or summaries for the team.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic familiarity with Git version control, including branching, committing, pulling code, and submitting pull requests.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze large amounts of healthcare data from multiple sources to support business decision-making.
  • Perform exploratory data analyses and evaluate data quality and usability.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using established templates and internal tools.
  • Perform routine data audits to flag quality issues, develop reports to monitor pricing quality and coverage, and assist in developing workarounds for data limitations.
  • Assist in gathering data requirements by participating in stakeholder meetings and documenting business needs.
  • Work closely with team members to identify key metrics and understand the rationale behind data requests.
  • Document existing data workflows to help the team identify inefficiencies or error-prone areas using available tools such as Miro, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Develop reports and visualizations that clearly communicate data-driven insights to internal stakeholders and external customers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of a business intelligence tool such as Looker or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and models, including ordinary least squares, sampling variability, conditional probability, and outlier detection.
  • Experience using SQL databases and Python packages such as pandas, SQLAlchemy, and multiprocessing.
  • Experience developing Python utility packages for use across multiple scripts, chunking large datasets for efficient processing, and using abstraction to refactor complex processes.
  • Knowledge of healthcare markets, specifically value-based care.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence-assisted coding tools such as Codex CLI, Cursor, or Claude Code.

About the company

Oxbridge Health creates health coverage plans centered on Episode Benefit Plans, which bundle all services for a given treatment into a single transparent price to lower costs and improve care. It uses data analytics to establish a protection layer—an exceptions/variances corridor around an episode—to handle unexpected events and provide predictability in spending. The plans mix familiar PPO/HMO features with strong price transparency and consumer-focused design. The company targets employers and works with brokers to reach more clients, drawing on a history of consumer-choice models like POS plans and tiered drug pricing to empower cost-aware decisions. Its goal is to reduce healthcare costs for employers while delivering clearer pricing and better care for employees through data-driven, episode-based coverage.

Oxbridge Health raises $45M Series B to cut employer health costs by up to 25%

Oxbridge Health has closed a $45 million Series B round led by Eir Partners, with participation from Optum Ventures and a group of healthcare leaders. The round brings total investment in the company to $90 million. The Connecticut-based startup will use the money to expand sales and service for employers and brokers, enter new markets, and offer its Episode Advantage Inside product to health plan partners. Its Episode Advantage Health Plans give members guaranteed prices for each episode of care, such as a knee replacement, before treatment. Oxbridge says the plans cost employers 10% to 25% less than comparable PPO or HMO plans. Self-funded employers in Texas, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut can now request 2027 quotes.
