Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in petrochemical, chemical, or refinery construction or project management is required, including experience in manufacturing and utilities.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and experience with the design, delivery, startup, and commissioning of large modular skid equipment packages and hydrogen chloride and sodium sulfate handling equipment packages are required.
  • Proficiency with project management software, budgeting tools, data analysis, modeling, and reporting is required.
  • The role requires leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • The candidate must be a United States citizen or permanent United States resident.
  • The candidate must be able to work onsite at the client's manufacturing facility in Waggaman, Louisiana.
Responsibilities
  • Manage delivery, construction, startup, and commissioning activities for the Dimethyl Carbonate and Ethyl Methyl Carbonate modular equipment at the Waggaman facility.
  • Review equipment designs for reliability and maintainability for the Morimatsu modules and hydrogen chloride and sodium sulfate handling system equipment packages.
  • Participate in capital projects and equipment commissioning activities.
  • Support installation, startup, and performance testing of the EMC and DMC 1 and 2 modular unit equipment.
  • Assist with spare-parts optimization and inventory management.
  • Lead projects through equipment delivery, permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout while coordinating across project phases.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project budgets; identify cost variances; implement corrective actions; and prepare and present budget and status reports.
  • Create detailed project schedules, track progress, and ensure adherence to timelines while managing dependencies and resource allocation.
  • Support consultant selection and subcontractor management, negotiate rates, manage change orders, and resolve disputes.
  • Ensure projects meet design, safety, and regulatory standards and conduct quality reviews and compliance checks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project owners and communicate project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare performance reports, financial models, and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design are advantageous.
