Outpatient App provides a HIPAA-compliant digital health platform that centralizes patient care information for military health facilities, commercial hospitals, and family caregivers. It automates appointment scheduling (including Periodic Health Assessments), tracks care plan adherence, and enables secure provider-to-provider messaging. The system works by letting healthcare teams and families access and share patient data, automate workflows, and monitor tasks within clinical operations. It differentiates itself by serving both large-scale military/civilian health systems and individual families with a single enterprise-grade workflow platform plus a caregiver app, then offering contracts and subscriptions for organizations and access for families. The goal is to improve communication, coordination, efficiency, and accountability in care delivery.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • MacDill adopted Outpatient in March 2025 for PHAs and occupational health exams.
  • Travis AFB reported 5,500 saved man-hours, a strong buyer proof point.
  • SSM Cardinal Glennon still promotes the family caregiving app, expanding civilian credibility.

What critics are saying

  • The 2022 Air Force purchase order ended March 2024, exposing renewal and budget risk.
  • Defense-focused revenue depends heavily on AFWERX and a few installations, concentrating procurement timing.
  • If AI ASSIST underperforms, larger EHR vendors can bundle similar workflows and displace Outpatient.

What makes Outpatient App unique

  • Outpatient unifies military readiness, scheduling, messaging, and medical tracking in one workflow.
  • Travis AFB and MacDill AFB deployments prove federal niche depth, not generic health software.
  • SBIR Phase III sole-source eligibility and AI ASSIST create switching costs for DoD buyers.
