A nationally recognized water aerobics certification is required.
Basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification is required within three months of hire.
Responsibilities
Conduct quality Aqua Fit group exercise classes focused on cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and muscular endurance, including warm-up and cool-down activities.
Plan and lead quality Aqua Fit exercise classes.
Maintain safety in all classes by following Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Evaluate fitness classes through observation, direct contact with participants, and written surveys.
Set up equipment and store it securely after classes.
Maintain cleanliness of the fitness area.
Keep attendance records for class patrons.
Check the instructor bulletin board for updates.
Ensure appropriate equipment is available for each program, inspect it for damage or disrepair, remove damaged equipment from service, and advise appropriate staff.
Evaluate fitness equipment needs and recommend purchases of new or replacement equipment.
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Enforce Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation rules and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plans and leads quality Aqua Fit exercise classes.
2. Maintains safety in all classes by following LSPR guidelines, policies and procedures.
3. Evaluates fitness classes through observation and direct contact with participants as well as through the use of written surveys.
4. Set up equipment and stores securely after completion of classes.
5. Maintains cleanliness of the fitness area.
6. Keeps attendance records of patrons in class.
7. Check the instructor bulletin board for updates.
8. Assures proper equipment is available for each program; inspects equipment for damage or disrepair, removes from service as needed, and advises appropriate LSPR staff.
9. Evaluate and make recommendations for the purchase of new or replacement fitness equipment.
10. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
11. Ensures enforcement of rules and regulations of LSPR.
12. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
