About the role
Title: Head of New Verticals

What does the role look like?
You’ll be joining Whop along with other Heads of Verticals and Vertical Operators (hiring a total of 15 new employees!). As a Head of Vertical at Whop, you will be the sole owner of the vertical we assign you. Within your vertical, you will be responsible for growing the entire vertical’s processing volume on Whop through leading market research, building GTM strategy, and executing on that strategy including outreach and onboarding of new creators. You will also be the internal advocate within Whop for your vertical and partner with Account Management, Product, Marketing, and other teams to ensure the business is aligned with and supporting your strategic growth initiatives. Think of this as your own business you are running within Whop.
As the Head of your vertical, you are the sole person in charge or driving supply and demand to your vertical. You will have a $10k/month budget + our Whop affiliate program (you can give affiliates 30% revenue cut for life) at your disposal. You will be given a playbook which has the frameworks we’ve used to scale the our existing verticals on Whop. You have full autonomy to deploy any strategy you think will be successful. You will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and communicating quantitative metrics and business trends internally and to partners within the market. Our existing team will help act as thought partners, but ultimately, you are the owner of your vertical and make the final decision.
This is not a “visionary” role; you will be expected to be boots on the ground, onboarding the initial supply in your vertical and executing on the strategies and tactics that you devise to ensure success in hitting the GMV targets you will own. Standing up new verticals is extremely difficult but will be massively rewarding when done well.
Your first 90 days will look like the following:
- Within 30 days, you will understand Whop’s product, build a 90-day plan for hitting initial GMV targets, and get to $100k in new GMV in your vertical.
- Within 60 days, you will have added $500k in new GMV in your vertical.
- Within 90 days, you will have added $1.5m in new GMV in your vertical.
Who you are:
- You have a passion for our mission at Whop. You live and breathe creators and will work relentlessly to help them earn a sustainable income on our platform.
- 4+ years of experience working in fast-paced, high-output environments, such as Banking, Consulting, Partnerships at a fast-paced tech company, Category/Vertical expansion, or have launched a previous successful company.
- You are scrappy and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- You want to grind and get your hands dirty.
- You are highly resourceful and an operator who can produce results in a highly ambiguous environment
- You are analytical and are comfortable understanding and using data to gain and take action on business insights.
Nice to have:
- Experience working closely with product teams.
- Have had your own business in our space or have bought digital products from Whop creators or similar products.
- Experience with two-sided platforms and marketplace dynamics.
