About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience building large-scale, full-stack applications and setting technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Experience orchestrating adoption of a design system or shared component architecture across a large organization and establishing practices across multiple teams contributing to one frontend.
  • Ability to diagnose and fix React rendering bottlenecks in complex, data-dense user interfaces.
  • Experience designing APIs and data layers, including REST endpoints for filtering, grouping, and pagination over large datasets, and optimizing their queries.
  • A track record leading multi-month, multi-team migrations or platform rebuilds and shipping incrementally without breaking users.
  • Ability to define conventions, review work broadly, and mentor engineers across teams.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting practices.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, Python, and PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to align leadership and multiple engineering teams around a shared technical direction.
  • Experience owning product surfaces and completing ambiguous work in an unstructured environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction for the biller-workflow platform’s frontend and backend architecture and drive adoption across the revenue cycle management engineering organization.
  • Establish component and design-system conventions, data-fetching and API contracts, testing approaches, and observability practices for consistent, high-performing frontend work across teams.
  • Lead cross-cutting technical problems, including data-dense tables with server-side grouping, filtering, and virtualized rendering over millions of records; idempotent, queue-backed bulk operations that mutate tens of thousands of records with undo and auditability; a unified claim-activity timeline; and embedding AI in claim comparison, submission-error reasoning, and rule suggestions.
  • Ensure engineering excellence across teams through architecture reviews, deep code review, and mentorship.
  • Own production reliability and performance for these product surfaces, including rendering and query performance, replica-lag handling, and claim-submission pipeline health.
  • Partner with product, design, and billing operations to turn complex billing workflows into software and maintain short feedback loops.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with analytical or online analytical processing stores such as StarRocks, ClickHouse, or Druid alongside transactional PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing data, including EDI X12 (270/271, 276/277, 835, 837), clearinghouses, ERAs/EOBs, and denial codes, or demonstrated ability to master a complex domain quickly.
  • Experience shipping large language model-powered features into production workflows.
  • Product intuition and experience influencing user experience and user interface decisions to improve usability.
  • Experience with developer tooling and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for frontend applications.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or insurance, with a focus on security and compliance.
  • Interest in improving healthcare and healthcare operations in America.
