Requirements
  • 3+ years managing an engineering team of at least 5 people
  • 6+ years overall industry experience building and scaling distributed systems and infrastructure components as a leader and/or individual contributor
  • Experience managing Staff+ engineers with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experiencing building large-scale online systems and infrastructure to support ML workflows, like training & serving.
  • Experience collaborating with ML engineers to understand their requirements and ship systems that accelerate their productivity.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, support and develop a team of engineers who design and build scalable services to power Figma’s infrastructure.
  • Design infrastructure to train, deploy, and serve models at scale.
  • Partner directly with ML/AI leaders, engineers, and researchers to build internal tools for model development and experimentation.
  • Combine industry best practices and a first-principles approach to design and build ML infrastructure.
  • Evangelize best practices throughout the engineering team to keep code quality high.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams and projects.
  • Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment in partnership with other leaders in the organization.
