Requirements
  • Successfully complete the Batchman II Career Path competencies with supervisor approval.
  • Possess a minimum Class B commercial driver's license with air brakes.
  • Have truck driving experience and good safety and driving records.
  • Have verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills.
  • Be able to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and handle clerical tasks.
  • Be able to create and maintain maintenance records.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Be willing to work nights, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Have interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that foster effective relationships.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and company products.
  • Be able to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment.
  • Be able to lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100 pounds frequently.
  • Be able to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders; balance; bend from the trunk; crawl; kneel; and push and pull objects.

  • Be able to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Be able to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing, walking, or sitting.

Responsibilities
  • Batch ready mix concrete promptly according to job requirements and ASTM specifications, safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the plant, including operations, maintenance, production, inventory control, safety, environmental compliance, customer service, and supervision of plant employees.
  • Maintain control of and distribute mail and inventory.
  • Schedule material deliveries and ensure adequate inventories of aggregates, cements, admixtures, fuel, and warehouse products.
  • Complete and maintain daily petty cash, CWC, environmental, and employee hour reports.
  • Maintain a safe workplace according to company policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure plant operations comply with applicable environmental standards.
  • Maintain the plant in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition.
  • Oversee drivers, loader operators, and laborers.
  • Ensure employees work safely, efficiently, and consistently with company policies and guidelines.
  • Keep plant equipment and yards in proper, clean condition, including the batch plant, trucks, loaders, and other equipment.
  • Maintain working relationships with coworkers and outside-agency personnel.
  • Perform daily material testing, including material moisture and concrete air-content testing.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials, parts, and supplies.
  • Make mail deliveries and pickups as needed.
  • Operate and drive light and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location.
  • Perform other duties related to the nature of the job on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
