About the job
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required, along with at least 6 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with configuration management tools, DevOps and release management tools, and service container-based platforms is required.
- Experience with Linux and Windows administration, scripting tools, and configuration and administration of enterprise web applications is required.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment SaaS environments is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for communicating with cross-functional teams.
- Manage day-to-day operations of Cloud production, pre-production, and other environment infrastructure, ensuring systems availability, performance, capacity, and continuity through appropriate responses to incidents, events, and problems.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, monitor Slack channels and monitoring system alerts and dashboards, and resolve requests within defined service-level agreements.
- Analyze observability data and take proactive actions to improve the stability and performance of cloud environments.
- Create and upgrade Cloud environment stacks, perform Cloud deployments, and provide support while following Change Management, Security Compliance, and Incident Management procedures.
- Follow and contribute to Cloud Operations procedures, including playbooks, runbooks, and guides.
- Perform periodic checks such as testing monitors, backups, and business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
- Communicate and collaborate with global Cloud Operations, Product Development, and Engineering teams to perform assigned tasks and projects and improve Cloud Operations services.
- 8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a primary focus on Operations, including proven experience in Production Operations within medium to large-scale environments.
- Experience with public cloud, preferably Amazon Web Services, and DevOps and release management tools including Terraform, Git, Ansible, Packer, and Jenkins.
- Experience building and managing Kubernetes cluster environments and fine-tuning and supporting microservices hosted on Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with monitoring systems, preferably Datadog, databases at a system administration level, and scripting tools including Linux Shell Scripting and Python.
- Knowledge and experience managing Java or similar web application environments.

As the 12th largest auto insurer and 11th largest home insurer in the US, Erie faces challenges with approximately 80% of its documents being unstructured content, including emails, text documents and voice recordings. The deployment extends Erie's existing relationship with Hyland, building upon its current use of Hyland OnBase as its core enterprise content management repository.
