Requirements
  • You have at least 2 years of full-cycle business-to-business sales experience and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding quotas in a closing role.
  • You are comfortable building your own pipeline through outbound prospecting.
  • You can navigate objections and close deals with small to mid-sized business owners.
  • You can translate complex product features into simple, high-impact business outcomes.
  • You understand the mathematics behind the business and can speak confidently about revenue and growth metrics.
  • You take full accountability for your territory and sales numbers.
  • You are comfortable taking action in an ambiguous, newly expanding market.
Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the entire sales funnel in the United States and Canada, focusing on high-potential photography studio segments.
  • Generate new business and move prospects from initial outbound contact through successful close.
  • Become an expert in the platform and deliver product demonstrations showing studios how to scale their business and optimize operations through the tools.
  • Work closely with a dedicated business development representative and the chief revenue officer to refine the North American go-to-market strategy.

  • Experience selling software or platforms where business value is tied to transaction volume or gross merchandise value.

GotPhoto names Mahesh Guruswamy as CEO.

GotPhoto names Mahesh Guruswamy as CEO. In an email, Europe-based GotPhoto announced James Micklethwait is stepping down as CEO, with outsider Mahesh Guruswamy taking over as CEO of GotPhoto effective today. Micklethwait will remain with the company through the end of 2026. In the announcement, the company said Guruswamy's appointment reflects GotPhoto's growing investment in the United States and Canada. GotPhoto provides workflow, online sales and automation technology primarily for high-volume photography businesses, including school, sports and volume portrait photographers. Photographic & Digital Arts Micklethwait stepped into the CEO on Jan. 7, 2025, succeeding former CEO Benedikt Greifenhofer. He had previously served as chief product and growth officer at GotPhoto. Most recently, Guruswamy served as chief operating officer of creator-commerce platform Kajabi, overseeing product, engineering, design and customer experience. He previously served as chief product and technology officer at Kickstarter, where he led the company's product and engineering organizations. He is also the author of the 2025 book, How to Deliver Bad News and Get Away with It: A Manager's Guide, and writes about management and leadership.
