About the company

What TC Energy does: It operates energy infrastructure across North America, focusing on natural gas transportation and storage through an extensive pipeline network in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, and also generating electricity from assets such as nuclear and natural gas-fired plants. How its product works: Its pipelines move natural gas from supply basins to markets, with storage capabilities to ensure reliability; revenue mostly comes from long-term, regulated contracts and fee-based arrangements, which give predictable cash flow. How it is different: It combines large-scale gas transportation with power generation under a regulated, fee-based business model across three countries, offering a stable, diversified energy infrastructure platform. What its goal is: to reliably deliver energy to homes and businesses by efficiently moving gas and producing power under long-term contracts, supporting North American energy markets.

GE Vernova and TC Energy: 2 profitable nuclear energy stocks with reactors under construction

GE Vernova and TC Energy are two profitable nuclear energy stocks offering investment opportunities as the sector develops. Both companies leverage diversified energy portfolios to fund nuclear operations whilst maintaining profitability. GE Vernova reported net income of $4.9 billion in 2025, with $4.7 billion in its first quarter of 2026. Through its partnership with Hitachi, it's building North America's only SMR currently under construction, the BWRX-300 reactor, expected to operate by 2030. A Tennessee project could be operational by the early 2030s. However, the stock has surged nearly 60% this year and appears overvalued. TC Energy generates revenue from natural gas, pipelines and renewable power, whilst holding a 48.4% stake in Bruce Power, Canada's only private-sector nuclear reactor.

Qube secures funding from TC Energy and NGIF to scale emissions monitoring tech across oil, gas, and biogas sectors

Qube Technologies, a Calgary-based emissions monitoring company, has closed a funding round led by existing investor TC Energy, with participation from NGIF Capital and other strategic investors. Qube recently launched two new products: Qube Lite, a cost-effective fenceline technology for source-level deployment, and Qube Camera, providing real-time visual confirmation and leak localisation. Both have seen immediate high-volume demand from operators seeking to reduce manual site inspections whilst managing emissions.

TC Energy's 6.25% Notes Lack Appeal

TC Energy Corporation (TRP) issued 6.25% Junior Subordinated Notes (TCPA) with a 6.57% yield to maturity and a BBB- credit rating. Despite strong dividend coverage and a stable credit outlook, the notes are deemed less appealing compared to deeply discounted baby bonds.
