Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Certification of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification such as Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and clinical care standards, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures, standard medical equipment and instruments, and infection control, safety, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
  • Ability to perform medical assisting tasks efficiently and accurately, take and record vital signs, and maintain clinical records and complete documentation.
  • One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
  • Float between assigned Urology Austin locations to provide clinical support as scheduled.
  • Escort patients to exam or treatment rooms and obtain vital signs, allergies, and medication lists.
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic tests following established protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and laboratory processing as trained and authorized.
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and properly sanitized after each patient.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
  • Record all patient data accurately in the electronic medical record system.
  • Communicate with providers and site managers regarding daily priorities and coverage needs.
  • Support other clinical staff as needed to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Prioritize and manage time effectively while floating between clinics.
  • Adapt to new environments and varying provider workflows.
