Tanium at RSAC 2026: bringing Autonomous IT to cybersecurity's biggest week.

Tanium at RSAC 2026: bringing Autonomous IT to cybersecurity's biggest week. Tanium Inc. brought the message of Autonomous IT to the leading security show, and people took notice. Its Culture March 30, 2026 Tanium brought its motto of Unstoppable Business to RSAC 2026 last week. From a lively field headquarters in San Francisco's Four Seasons Hotel, Tanium execs and experts connected with cybersecurity and business leaders, top industry analysts, key business media, and a steady stream of customers. The RSAC Conference is the world's premier cybersecurity event, and Tanium Inc. joined hundreds of vendors and tens of thousands of attendees from more than 100 countries at the Moscone Center for a week of talks, demos, trainings, and networking opportunities. An explosion of ideas. Tanium CEO Dan Streetman was a whirlwind of energy, breaking away from customer conversations to do media interviews. He talked with Information Security Media Group about autonomous IT as an effective response - when done correctly - to AI's acceleration of both IT environments and the threat landscape. He also sat down with with Nasdaq and NYSE. Those will be posted soon, so follow Tanium Inc. on LinkedIn to catch the clips. Tanium CEO Dan Streetman and Nasdaq's Kristina Ayanian discuss Autonomous IT and how it is shaping enterprise technology. Dan wasn't the only Tanium leader keeping busy at the show. CTO Matt Quinn chatted with Six Five Media (links to come, watch LinkedIn), and Tanium Chief Security Advisor Tim Morris sat down with SC Media to discuss what it means for IT and security teams to move from reactive to autonomous - and how they do it. "You absolutely have to think about [Autonomous IT] differently. Tim Morris, Tanium Chief Security Advisor "You absolutely have to think about it differently," he said. "People forget the foundation. They want to go automate everything and get to autonomous, but they're still working in these 30-year-old 20-year-old systems, still using data across different groups and fragmented tools, and that data is stale and old." Governance is essential, Morris said, and the prerequisite for that is visibility across systems, applications, and endpoints. Tanium CTO Matt Quinn met with Dan Newman and Pat Moorhead, analyst co-founders of Six Five Media, in the RSAC Expo Hall to unpack the future of IT. Not all the conversations were on camera, of course. The best part of RSAC is learning - not only from the hundreds of informative sessions, but from direct conversations with customers, partners, industry analysts, and journalists. Cyber Security Tribe, a community and publication, asked several experts a question about agentic AI and autonomous decision-making. Melissa Bischoping, senior director of security and product design research, Tanium, gave a thoughtful response: "Autonomous IT lets organizations keep up with the scale and complexity of modern IT without scaling staff at the same pace," she said. "Technical teams have long been buried in alerts, data, and tools; Autonomous IT is what makes high-fidelity decision-making and investigations possible without crushing cognitive load." [Read more]. Autonomous IT is what makes high-fidelity decision-making and investigations possible without crushing cognitive load. Melissa Bischoping, Senior Director, Security and Product Design Research No surprise, AI's impact on the security space is on everyone's mind. It's already changing the game for threat hunting, root cause analysis (RCA), and help desks. But issues of trust, validation, and cost persist. Many of its conversations suggested a move toward enriching real-time endpoint telemetry with additional sources and using the power of AI to sort through it all. But given that there's more data, more risk, and more vulnerability than any organization can necessarily tackle all at once, there's also a growing awareness that organizations must move toward managing outcomes, triaging, and prioritizing more effectively. Key announcements advance Autonomous IT. Tanium made a number of significant announcements at the conference. As a talking point, "autonomous IT" is an obvious winner in an age of AI-empowered attackers, but making it real takes work. Advancing the Autonomous IT revolution, Tanium announced: * Real-time visibility into AI use across endpoints, with Tanium Guardian Spotlight: AI Tools. Customers can identify AI tools, model files, LLMs, and MCP servers running on endpoints. * Actionable intelligence through Tanium AI: Enrichment and Analysis: New capabilities uplevel alerts and datasets into clear, actionable intel, with rich context and trusted external sources. Security analysts will benefit from the confidence that comes with better decision agility and the ability to drive faster remediations. * Faster, frictionless remediation: Closed-Loop Exposure Remediation from Tanium now allows teams to launch OS and software patching directly from the risk analysis view, leading to faster remediation. With Tanium Exposure Management now prioritizing and pre-populating remediation actions in one place, security and IT can work together to resolve the most critical risks faster. * Unified visibility across IT and industrial systems: Tanium Endpoint Management for Operational Technology brings real-time insight and risk detection to OT environments that were previously isolated. By now including industrial systems in a single view, Tanium helps organizations protect critical operations with the same speed and visibility they expect from IT. * Faster IT incident resolution: Embedded in ServiceNow's Now Assist, this Tanium agent automates an IT incident workflow to investigate real-time endpoint intelligence. Admins can get insights and perform recommended actions, eliminating the need for time-consuming investigations. Collectively, the announcements underscore Tanium's AI-driven innovation to make Autonomous IT a reality across security operations, exposure management, and endpoint management. Security leaders can move even faster, respond with confidence, and strengthen resilience. Learn more about all of it right here. And of course, Tanium Inc. had experts on site, taking conference attendees through demos that explored the full range of Tanium's Autonomous IT solutions. Customized on the fly, these shirts let Tanium fans combine the message of Autonomous IT with what makes them unstoppable in their own lives. Tanium partners with Microsoft's Sentinel Advisory Service. Another important announcement at RSAC: Tanium is partnering with Microsoft's new Sentinel Advisory Service. The service helps software companies design data strategies and accelerate development. It provides technical workshops, guidance on building agentic AI solutions, and more - all helping to streamline security operations and let companies focus on end-to-end architecture. Tanium worked closely with Microsoft to integrate its Security Triage Agent with Security Copilot, combining endpoint and identity data from Sentinel data lake to help analysts reach faster, more confident decisions and accelerate threat response to stop threats before they escalate. Future forward. The energy at RSAC was amazing. With so much change in the industry, and so much anxiety around the new threats of generative and agentic AI, you might have expected a more dour or nervous environment. In fact, there was a lot of talk about the opportunity that AI presents to defenders. The optimism seemed to run high - as high as it gets in cyber, at least. For a week, the best minds in the cybersecurity world and in business and technical roles across industries came together around a shared commitment to making a world where AI is safe, data is secure, and business is unstoppable. Tanium Inc. felt right at home. Brian McDonough is a former journalist who has worked for daily newspapers, tech and legal industry publications and CNET's News.com. He has also written reports and ghostwritten for executives at a variety of tech companies on topics from data security to DevOps, and observability to artificial intelligence.
