Tanium has appointed Carol MacKinlay as Chief People Officer. She will lead the company's global people strategy, including talent development, retention and employee experience. MacKinlay brings over 30 years of experience scaling people organisations at technology companies. She joins from Pebl, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer, and has held senior roles at Binance.US, Plantronics, Xero and Matterport. Tanium, which describes itself as the Autonomous IT company, earned multiple workplace recognitions in 2025, including Best Workplace honours in the UK, France, Japan and Canada. The company was also named a Most Inspiring Workplace and Global Most Loved Workplace. CEO Dan Streetman said MacKinlay's expertise will support Tanium's continued expansion whilst maintaining its culture.

Tanium at RSAC 2026: bringing Autonomous IT to cybersecurity's biggest week. Tanium Inc. brought the message of Autonomous IT to the leading security show, and people took notice. From a lively field headquarters in San Francisco's Four Seasons Hotel, Tanium execs and experts connected with cybersecurity and business leaders, top industry analysts, key business media, and a steady stream of customers. The RSAC Conference is the world's premier cybersecurity event, and Tanium Inc. joined hundreds of vendors and tens of thousands of attendees from more than 100 countries at the Moscone Center for a week of talks, demos, trainings, and networking opportunities. An explosion of ideas. Tanium CEO Dan Streetman was a whirlwind of energy, breaking away from customer conversations to do media interviews. He talked with Information Security Media Group about autonomous IT as an effective response - when done correctly - to AI's acceleration of both IT environments and the threat landscape. CTO Matt Quinn chatted with Six Five Media (links to come, watch LinkedIn), and Tanium Chief Security Advisor Tim Morris sat down with SC Media to discuss what it means for IT and security teams to move from reactive to autonomous - and how they do it. It's already changing the game for threat hunting, root cause analysis (RCA), and help desks. But issues of trust, validation, and cost persist. Many of its conversations suggested a move toward enriching real-time endpoint telemetry with additional sources and using the power of AI to sort through it all. But given that there's more data, more risk, and more vulnerability than any organization can necessarily tackle all at once, there's also a growing awareness that organizations must move toward managing outcomes, triaging, and prioritizing more effectively. As a talking point, "autonomous IT" is an obvious winner in an age of AI-empowered attackers, but making it real takes work. Security analysts will benefit from the confidence that comes with better decision agility and the ability to drive faster remediations. * Faster, frictionless remediation: Closed-Loop Exposure Remediation from Tanium now allows teams to launch OS and software patching directly from the risk analysis view, leading to faster remediation. With Tanium Exposure Management now prioritizing and pre-populating remediation actions in one place, security and IT can work together to resolve the most critical risks faster. * Unified visibility across IT and industrial systems: Tanium Endpoint Management for Operational Technology brings real-time insight and risk detection to OT environments that were previously isolated. By now including industrial systems in a single view, Tanium helps organizations protect critical operations with the same speed and visibility they expect from IT. * Faster IT incident resolution: Embedded in ServiceNow's Now Assist, this Tanium agent automates an IT incident workflow to investigate real-time endpoint intelligence. The service helps software companies design data strategies and accelerate development. It provides technical workshops, guidance on building agentic AI solutions, and more - all helping to streamline security operations and let companies focus on end-to-end architecture. Tanium worked closely with Microsoft to integrate its Security Triage Agent with Security Copilot, combining endpoint and identity data from Sentinel data lake to help analysts reach faster, more confident decisions and accelerate threat response to stop threats before they escalate. Future forward. The energy at RSAC was amazing. With so much change in the industry, and so much anxiety around the new threats of generative and agentic AI, you might have expected a more dour or nervous environment. In fact, there was a lot of talk about the opportunity that AI presents to defenders. The optimism seemed to run high - as high as it gets in cyber, at least. For a week, the best minds in the cybersecurity world and in business and technical roles across industries came together around a shared commitment to making a world where AI is safe, data is secure, and business is unstoppable. Tanium, a leader in autonomous IT, has announced major AI and security advancements at the RSA Conference. The company unveiled enhancements across its Autonomous IT Platform, including Tanium Guardian Spotlight for AI governance, which provides real-time visibility into AI tools and local LLMs across endpoints. New capabilities include Tanium AI Enrichment and Analysis for security operations, closed-loop exposure remediation connecting vulnerability management with patching workflows, and endpoint management for operational technology environments. Tanium also launched an AI agent for ServiceNow that automates incident investigation and suggests remediation actions. The innovations address growing demand for unified IT operations and security platforms. According to Omdia research, half of organisations are already using or piloting autonomous endpoint management, with nearly all others planning to adopt it.
