Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A license to drive the community bus, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment, is required.
  • Common digital tools and applications must be used proficiently, including Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word, web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and applicable human resources systems.
  • The ability to walk or stand for extended periods and move throughout the community, resident apartments, and other areas is required.
  • The employee may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance.
  • The employee must communicate effectively and identify and interpret written information.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • The employee must follow infection prevention and control protocols, including using personal protective equipment when necessary.
  • The employee must complete required training and ongoing education initiatives.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check and drug screening and participating in required health assessments such as tuberculosis testing or physical evaluations.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and leading community activity programs, holiday celebrations, and special events.
  • Introduce new residents and their families to the community’s life enrichment programs.
  • Assist in coordinating holiday decoration displays for the community.
  • Contribute to resident assessments by assisting in completing or ensuring completion of Life Stories.
  • Assist in taking activity attendance and completing family messaging in Cedarhurst’s electronic platform.
  • Attend monthly virtual education meetings provided by Home Office Support.
  • Drive the community bus for outings and appointments as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication by community staff with residents’ families concerning residents’ physical, personal, and emotional well-being.
  • Engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.
  • Participate in staff activities that foster teamwork, unity, and morale.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • CPR or basic life support certification is preferred.
