Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in civil site engineering, including residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience.
  • Engineer-In-Training certification is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to maintain and operate a personal and/or company vehicle.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of truck and turning and modeling software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic, hydraulic, and stormwater design.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting.
  • Proficiency in grading and drainage design.
  • Utility design experience, including pump stations and force mains.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
  • Proficiency using mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation.
  • Construction support experience.
  • Proficiency with hydrology software, including Hydraflow, HydroCAD, and PondPack.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic software, including Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, and HEC-RAS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for preparing design document markups.
  • Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment focused on staff development and mentoring.
  • Client management experience.
Responsibilities
  • Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for properties.
  • Prepare site investigation and due diligence reports covering ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations, and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.
  • Prepare conceptual site plans.
  • Prepare preliminary grading plans and designs.
  • Design stormwater management, stormwater conveyance, utility systems, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare project proposals.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Coordinate with clients, other consultants, and project teams to prepare comprehensive site plan applications.
  • Prepare technical reports, including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reports.
  • Prepare written correspondence for outside agencies, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Present to planning and zoning boards, municipal agencies, and project teams.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
