Requirements
  • An associate degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science, or completion of a certificate or training program is required.
  • Four years of experience working in a cath lab or special procedures radiologic technologist role is required.
  • The candidate must be cross-trained and able to rotate to perform at least four functional skill sets as delegated in any diagnostic or interventional case type performed.
  • A radiographer license in the state of practice is required.
  • Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the physician with invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, neuro, and electrophysiology procedures by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response, maintaining the sterile field, and interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data for physician use.
  • Operate equipment that produces ionizing radiation.
  • Support education, training, quality improvement, and research processes in the department.
  • Excel in a subspecialty area of expertise.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cardiac Interventional Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist from Cardiovascular Credentialing International, is preferred.
