Requirements
  • At least 6 years of SAP development experience.
  • Hands-on delivery of at least one end-to-end SAP solution in production, such as an S/4HANA extension, a CAP or RAP application on SAP Business Technology Platform with Fiori, or an Integration Suite flow.
  • Strong command of ABAP Cloud, ABAP CDS, the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model, and OData version 2 or version 4.
  • Working-to-advanced experience with SAP Business Technology Platform runtimes and core services including Connectivity, Destination, and XSUAA authentication, including deploying, securing, and operating applications on the platform.
  • Solid experience with SAP Fiori concepts, SAPUI5, and Fiori Elements using OData version 4.
  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite, API Management, and event-driven patterns including OData, Representational State Transfer, IDoc, Cloud Integration, and Event Mesh across hybrid landscapes.
  • Strong understanding of SAP and Databricks artificial intelligence capabilities, generative artificial intelligence, and agentic concepts including retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, grounding, tool calling, and enterprise artificial intelligence governance.
  • Comfort with Git, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated testing, Visual Studio Code, ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse, and MTA/Cloud Foundry packaging.
  • Understanding of clean-core principles and the rationale for keeping extensions side-by-side or in-app rather than in the SAP digital core.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work across functional, product, and engineering teams, and take ownership of delivered work.
Responsibilities
  • Develop in-app and side-by-side extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform using released APIs and extension points while keeping the S/4HANA digital core clean and upgrade-ready.
  • Build scalable, full-stack applications and services on the Databricks platform that extend and integrate with SAP using Databricks-native capabilities, APIs, data services, and artificial intelligence and agentic tooling.
  • Implement secure and resilient integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite, event-driven patterns, APIs, OData version 4, and change-data feeds into the Databricks Lakehouse, with error handling and monitoring.
  • Build artificial-intelligence-powered and agentic capabilities into finance workflows using Databricks artificial intelligence, including retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, tool calling, and human-in-the-loop controls while maintaining governance and auditability.
  • Partner with data engineering to build pipelines and extraction patterns using change data capture, OData, and APIs that land SAP data in Databricks with attention to modeling, lineage, and data quality.
  • Write unit and integration tests, work within continuous integration and continuous delivery and transport pipelines for ABAP and Business Technology Platform artifacts, participate in code reviews, and follow security and coding standards.
  • Work with the technical lead, functional experts, and product owners to turn requirements and designs into working software and iterate based on user feedback.
Desired Qualifications
  • Practical experience building artificial-intelligence-powered applications and workflows on Databricks and integrating them with SAP.
  • Domain knowledge in finance, procurement, or supply chain.
  • Experience extending or customizing Joule agents through SAP Build or Joule Studio, or building agents on SAP AI Foundation.
  • Experience building applications on modern data platforms such as Databricks that extend or sit alongside SAP.
  • Cloud-native experience with containerization, Kubernetes or Kyma, observability, and scalability patterns.
  • SAP certification in ABAP, SAP Business Technology Platform, or SAP Build.
  • Prior work in a high-growth technology company.

Databricks provides a unified data and AI platform built around a lakehouse architecture that blends data lakes and data warehouses. It helps organizations ingest, store, manage, and analyze data from various sources, then apply analytics and machine learning at scale. The platform offers automated ETL, secure data sharing, and high-performance analytics, with built-in support for AI workloads and model deployment. Unlike traditional single-purpose data stores, Databricks combines data engineering, data science, and business analytics in one system, aiming to streamline data workflows and make insights readily actionable. Its goal is to enable businesses to manage data more efficiently, accelerate insight generation, and deploy AI and analytics across diverse teams through a subscription-based platform and professional services.

Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June. The earlier financing round included $2 billion in debt capacity intended to fund AI products, acquisitions and employee liquidity. At its current valuation, Databricks exceeds Snowflake's market capitalisation of approximately $83 billion. Management has indicated the company may remain private until market conditions improve.
