- A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
- At least 5 years of inside or outside sales experience in a showroom, luxury retail, or architectural design firm is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in a sales management role within a high-end luxury brand environment is required.
- Be a self-motivated team leader with coaching and communication skills.
- Be well connected within the luxury design trade around the showroom.
- Be able to take charge, drive results, and make sound decisions quickly.
- Be able to negotiate and close deals.
- Have time-management skills and the ability to multitask.
- Be able to inspire trust, integrity, and professionalism.
- Demonstrate innovative and strategic thinking.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have working knowledge of customer relationship management systems.
- Be able to travel up to 20%.
- Be able to lift and mobilize small- to medium-sized items up to 25 pounds using appropriate equipment and techniques, and maneuver effectively around the showroom floor, stock room, and office.
- Be able to perform periods of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing.
- A driver's license is preferred.
- A plumbing, tile, or construction background or exposure is a plus.
- Be able to travel locally or out of state.
- Take full financial profit-and-loss, operations, and account-management responsibility for the showroom.
- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team in selling, marketing, and new-business-development activities.
- Execute organizational strategies to position Waterworks as the industry leader for luxury bath and kitchen.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the architect and design community.
- Enhance relationships with current clients to increase sales.
- Strategically guide and develop individual associates' account and customer relationship management activity through regular one-on-one meetings, ensuring marketing activities match potential.
- Establish and maintain operational processes to uphold the Waterworks brand image.
- Investigate and implement innovative ways to proactively market Waterworks products.
- Create a showroom environment that delivers a luxury experience to clients.
- Coach the team to stay current on the product range and competitors' offerings, and report findings to cross-functional partners.
- Hold the designated showroom associate accountable for project management, outstanding service, and follow-through for clients.
- Empower associates to resolve client issues and implement solutions.
- Perform other responsibilities designed to grow market share.
- A plumbing, tile, or construction background or exposure is a plus.
- A driver's license is preferred.
