Requirements
  • C.N.A. certification or experience as a caregiver.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic reading and writing skills and the ability to speak English.
  • Good communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with all assigned areas of care in partnership with the health services team and under the direction of the Director of Assisted Living or designee.
  • Adhere to and convey the organization's philosophy of person-centered care and Genuine Hospitality.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty.
  • Wear a name tag and uniform and follow the cell phone policy.
  • Report to work on time and according to the community schedule and procedures.
  • Receive the previous shift's report and review care staff assignments and end-of-shift reports before providing resident care.
  • Document care provided through CareStream and follow applicable policies and procedures.
  • Provide a report to the oncoming shift and document the end-of-shift report and CareStream entries before leaving the shift.
  • Complete incident reports when needed.
  • Sign out and carry assigned equipment, including a radio, tablet, and keys, at the beginning of the shift.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights, doors, and resident alarms.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging and promoting self-care to the extent possible.
  • Encourage and assist residents in individual and group program activities.
  • Assist residents with meals, housekeeping, and laundry services as needed, requested, or assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide high-quality resident care and recommend ways to improve quality.
  • Observe changes in residents' physical or mental status and communicate them to the Director of Assisted Living, licensed vocational nurse/licensed practical nurse, or manager on duty.
  • Respond promptly to resident, staff, or visitor emergencies and follow applicable policies and procedures.
  • Follow infection-control policies and procedures.
  • Follow fire, missing-resident, and other emergency procedures described in community policies and fire and disaster plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
  • Attend and participate in assigned training and team meetings.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
